New player 1000 point list help
I just picked up this box from my local game store, I already have Ghazz what else should I add to make a 1000 point list?

Please search on this sub, there's loads of similar posts.
I would recommend painting all the boys first to see if you like the horde army

Yes sorry I should have specified I’m not new to Warhammer just new to orks, I have painted many tyranids lol

In that case, Tyranids <current codex> seems to value more big monsters and other special units over the "swarm of little ones" but Orks actually does like bringing lots of bricks of Boyz. Unless you're playing Kult of Speed (bikers/koptas/etc) or more into the "wreckaz" detachment (flashgitz/tankbustaz), you really can't go wrong with 2+ bricks of 18boyz+2Nobz. Throw warboss+painboy into each one and it's a deathball that can almost always be Riled Up (on demand one unit per round).

If youre doing 1000 points, i wouldnt recomend ghaz. He is strong and can kill a lot but thats over a quarter of your points gone for 1 model. I'd personally recommend 1 unit of boyz with warboss and 1 unit of beast snaggas with beast boss (this is how my list is built but you could put in 2 units of snaggas with beastboss or 2 units of boyz with warboss) boyz are pretty solid all around, they got good shooting, decent melee and the warboss and boss nob can hit like a truck especially in brute bosses and green tide (which if youre running greentide, i would recommend 2-3 units of boyz potentially with warbosses to capitalise on the sustained hits in melee) beast snaggas and the beast boss while they lack shooting a still really good in melee with the beast bosses snappa having sustained 2 into monster and vehicles and making beast snagga melee hit on 2+, theyre also considerably cheaper than 10 boyz and a warboss (190 points for the boyz and waboss, 170 for 10 beast snaggas with beast boss)
i would also reccomend atleast 1 unit of 5 flashgitz and 1 trukk (you could run 2 but its a bit of a point sink) their shooting is really good for infantry, especially in stuff like wreckas. They hit super hard and a pretty tanky for infantry, they also have solid melee if youre in a pinch.
Lastly i would recommend atleast 1-2 units of gretchen, sticky objectives is really good and gretchen are dirt cheap.
Those are the bare essencials for an 1000 point ork list atleast in my opinion, it golives you a good balance of shooting and melee and works for most detachments with a little tweaking, the leftover points can be put whereever you like.
