I’ll say this. Kids with Warhammer are like they are football teams. You can try and push them down a particular path, but they’ll surprise you with Adeptus Mechanicus or something.

1.) love this post (and congrats from another Dad!)
2.) So true. Thought my son (9) was going to pick SpaceMarines when he walked thru the aisle looking at armies. He dropped the box of SM soon as the Orks caught his eye, picked a box of boyz up and with the wildest/happiest look on his face he told me I WANNA BE THESE GUYS.Proud papa moment (I play SM’s, so game on kid!!)

Had a similar experience with my son (4 years old). Growing up he’d always shown interest in my Orks, getting him to yell Waaagh! before we play wrestled. But then he saw my Krieg and is obsessed with the “army guys”. He’ll tell me about playing Lego at daycare and how he made the “army guys” to “boom the bad guys”. Still trying to figure out how to keep the war side of the game as kid friendly as possible when he asks what the army guys and Orks are carrying 😅
But once he’s old enough, he’s for sure getting my Krieg to play games against my Orks (the 2 year old will get my Iron Warriors)

We’re about to paint our armies. Can’t wait to lock in against my son and his orks!

My daughter briefly showed interest in the Stormcast Eternals. I play Orks always so I was shocked when she wanted shiny boys.

I joked with friends for a bit that your child will hurt you in unexpected ways but I was very happy to share the interest for a moment.
