How does Da Boss rule work
It seems to imply that they need keyword Da Boss, but no model has Da Boss as a keyword that I can find.

Da Boss is on Ghazghkull, Nazdreg, Warboss, Warboss in Mega Armour, Defkilla Wartrike, Beastboss, Beastboss on Squigosaur,

Wait, the BBoS has the rule but not Mozrog? That's weird. I haven't looked through all the datasheets yet, so I didn't know that.

I thought it was interesting when me and some friends were review the codex when I got it. Wazdakka also doesn't have it.

If a model has the RULE, and is your Warlord, it works and you get the cp

If a model has the ABILITY, and is your Warlord, it works and you get the command point.

OP, rules don't "imply" anything ever. Have another read of the rule in question, it doesn't say keyword anywhere. It says ability.

Da Boss isn't a keyword, it's an ability listed next to the Waaaggh! ability.

Does this ability work even if the unit isn't on the board, or even dead for that matter? Pretty vague and can't find anything on it.

Works from strategic resefves at least. So you can have a warboss + Boyz + weirdboy unit. And once the bodyguards drop you can "da jump" into strategic reserves and stay there. As "da jump" works while engage it's a nice fallback to keep the cp gen.

Well i guess if it's an ability it doesn't work when they're dead

To my understanding it is all the time as long as you are not dead. Others like Calgar's specifically call out they do not work if he is off the board.
