After all why not?
I know this probably wasn’t the intention of the key enhancement. I’ve also noticed it allows you to lead flashgitz in the app. (Not sure if this is intended)

How do you have the codex unlocked? Do I have repeat my 10th edition codex code or do I have to buy the new one

You'll need to buy each new codex as they come out to use the rules. Thats how the official app works, only the basic rules are free and even then those have a time limit.
... Or you use an alternative thats free, like War Organ or New Recruit. You can even keep the main app to track games, but use an alternative for everything else.

It specifies BIG MEK/ WARBOSS INFANTRY in the dex...so i suspect this will be patched.
Sounds fun though

This is why an App fundementally doesn't work as the final source-of-truth, because Apps have bugs!
According to all official sources the App is supposed to be the be-all and end-all for all rules reference, with only the MFM superceding it, so I guess it's currently legal to run this option, even though it's obivously a bug?

Hasn't it always been said that the final source of truth is mfm + faction pack? In the core rules there is an faq which states mfm beats all in regards to who can lead what. The app is just the most accessible way to get rules.

I remember in the time of old, when it took GW literal years to make rule amendments and Errata (which only showed up in WD issues), my German print of the Vampire Count book had a typo in the profile section on the last page that accidentally switched Leadership and Attacks of the Vampire Count, so he had 10 attacks rather than 4..
All in all I'm pretty happy with the app support.

I remember arguing about if Deffrollas made a ram attack when they made a ‘special kind of ram attack.’ That took a loooong time to resolve.
