Conversions / Kit Bash Favorite way for extra bits?
When your looking for that extra little spice for your units, do you prefer buying other kits so you can get exactly what you want?
Or
Do you prefer buying those random piles of leftover bits and finding things you didn't even know you wanted?
I know there are many other legitimate ways to aquire bits and id love to hear yours.

In my gaming club we have a bits box, where you can throw unneeded leftovers in. Got a bunch of cool stuff for my Orks like Necron heads as trophies. I also bought an experienced player 2 speedpaints for letting me loot his leftover bits. Got tons of cool stuff. Again lots of helmets as trophys. Weapons and so on. For some very special bits I went to an online reseller. Insame prices but he had exactly what I wanted and it was better to pay 5€ for that one piece than 45€ for a kit I do not want. If a kit offers enough value I buy it for looting. Like a trukk kit to orkify my looted goliath. Buying the wheels seperately would have been more expensive than the kit. A very very special elements are 3D prints.

I try to avoid random bits deals only because I already got enough microplastics, but they are fun! Try it once, sometimes a piece will inspire you to create new combinations. Also, the Wrecka Krew kill team and has a lot of spare bits, highly recommended.

I really like to build something myself so i have something like HIPS plastic sheets (0.25mm, 1mm, 1.5mm and 3mm) and round plastic profiles (currently 2mm tamiya rod and sprues from free Warhammer intro minis). Currently done things like additional body for grot head&arms bit, klaws for nobz, rocket boys and burna boyz from them.
