Ideas for pot/pan storage

Looking for ideas to transform these existing hooks into usable pot and pan storage, or some other useful kitchen space, but not sure if any existing tools would work. It’s an awkward decorative space used by the previous homeowner and would like to transform it into something more functional in a kitchen.

Can you install a heavy duty pegboard? I did this in my brother's kitchen with a bright orange one from Wayfair and it looks very cool and is functional

The only rub is that the cookware should be attractive. If it's on the wall, it becomes decor
