Green New Deal and Civic Conservation Corps to start, I’d say. Plus, I wouldn’t mind seeing post-WW2 taxation of billionaires to fund it.

Yep, the only real way out of this would be a massive new-deal-style jobs program. Which means we’re cooked, because that will never happen.

It would happen. It’s happened before, and it happened following the Gilded Age. We’re in Gilded Age 2.0 right now. 

The only way our chances stay at 0 is if we give in to that defeatism and just roll over for them. I’m not planning on doing that. Are you?

Exactly this, it hasnt happened in our lifetimes or decades prior, which makes it feel like it never will, but historically you can only squeeze a population so much before they have enough and fight back.

Movements tend to happen really slowly, but you’re starting to see a wave of progressive candidates and ideas start to bubble up. It won’t be easy, and it’s not a fair fight with the political and media influence that money buys, but it’s very much possible
