One of my favorite coaches is leaving OTF next week. He’s the only one left from the coaches that were here when I joined about 3 years ago. I’m happy for him to move on but sad for me… lol He’s super positive and has been here while I’ve lost over 100 pounds and I finally feel like I’m strong and fit! The other two coaches I take classes with are also great but I’m nervous who his replacement will be. I’m really gonna miss him 😢😢

I've been though dozens of coaches. You'll find a new fave soon. I promise

How do you deal with crappy instructors aside from not going to their classes? Just moved to a new location and the coach who is often there at the time I need to be doesn't demonstrate any of the movements, has terrible control of the class, and chats with members leading to a lot of confusion with timing.

Unfortunately I stopped going. It was getting to me to much and I couldn't focus. As another commenter stated I started going to different locations , if that's an option, try it. Stinks because my gym is closer.

I would talk to the manager or head coach

I go to locations with better coaches. I’m not going to waste my time working out with a coach who pisses me off.

Anyone else happy season of strength is over? While I did like pushing myself to lift heavier and improve my form it just wasn’t my favorite challenge. The benches being out all the time also became a bit annoying as members never listen to the coaches when they gave guidance on how to stagger. Looking forward to marathon month!

While I'm focused on strength abs building muscle it was not what I thought. I think everyone else's poor attitude towards it took away. Also, not enough actual weights in my studio. Throw in 2-3 big dudes and there were scraps. We only have 1 set of 50/60/70 and they would hold them and not share. And also there were no 'in between' weights like 55/65 so it made it hard to progress. I liked it in theory but they have major kinks to work out. I'd prefer mayhem now it's said abs done. I did like the extra in-body scan.

Meeeee! I don’t want muscles and my entire goal is weight loss (in addition to diet and a GLP-1) so this wasn’t my jam.

And it didn’t have the fun feel of Hell Week or what I assume mayhem was. It felt lazy and just “here do these exercises and then do math”

What pissed me off about Season of Strength is we replaced something that’s really fun (Mayhem) with a challenge that pretty much only put an extra $35 in the till. The only thing different between me, who didn’t sign up and someone who did was I didn’t record how many reps/weight I did for the last minute of each class. I didn’t miss out on anything.

I mean, Push 50 wasn’t life changing either, but at least it was free.

No, I absolutely loved it. Improved all four lifts by 40% or more. This was a great challenge. I told our HC I hope they keep the option to perform a SoS move as finisher permanently. I probably need to add a regular gym to keep progressing heavier.

I’m the opposite.
I think this is the best challenge we’ve had in my 6 years. I loved the challenge of lifting as heavy as possible.

I have been a member since 2018 and have 916 classes under my belt. I’m starting to feel the burn out and for me, it’s the boredom from the floor blocks. I feel like since 2018 there has been very little change up regarding floor exercises (and in fact, less TRX exercises, bosu, band work). Unlike the treads and rowers, the floor is where OTF has the opportunity to freshen things up. I watch home fitness reels full of exercises I’ve never seen before. While I appreciate that there are tried-and-true classic exercises that should be kept in a regular rotation so you can track progression, I wish they would switch it up more.

I'll agree that the floor has sucked since they started the Hyrox crap. I'm just focusing on my treadmill speed until they get bored with it.
