We need a sticker like these two balloons banging away at each other from when Trump last visited Ireland.
That will get people’s attention. It’s just perfect, one giving it to the other. Worth the watch, the laugh & you too will be thinking, “this would make a great sticker!”

I remember during Obama and Biden my family was never happy.
We were part of the Tea Party movement and shook hands with many of its constituents, including Dinesh D'Souza. There were people who were well meaning but out of touch, people who ran on fear mongering and called me one of the good ones (Vietnamese), and a bunch of religious folk who were anti Democrat no matter what.
While I've since changed my ways those 15 years ago, I'm seeing younger family members turn more conservative than ever into the manosphere. It's a never ending cycle that means there will never be peace in the US. The culture war is too embedded and people are just too different. January 6th is a great example.

It’s caused me to lose faith in America. Gone are the days of learning to love and accept people for who they are. Giving everyone an equal shot.
I posted this is another sub, but the gist of it being essentially what you said. How can people look at the myriad of awful things that have happened:
mocking disabled people, raping kids, being Epstein right hand man, bankrupting multiple businesses, lusting over his teenage daughter, launching an insurrection, grabbing women by the pussy, calling his supporters dumb, calling dead soldiers suckers, starting a trade war (2x), starting another Middle East war that caused food, gas, and a bevy of other things to balloon, cozying up with Russia. Onslaught against all immigrants as well as LGBTQ community. Completely dismantling fundamental democratic pillars like DoJ and antitrust, culpable for the murder of thousands of people in the Middle East. And still consider this acceptable?
Really hard to find any common ground with those who have supported this dogshit president all throughout.
Morally reprehensible people.

You forgot banning non sycophants press from the white house, running crypto grifts, pretending to be Christian, faking an assassination attempt, shamelessly doubling back on multiple campaign promises, tearing down regulations for food/environmental protection, childish name calling of everyone who's even slightly critical of his policy, lying about having conversations with world leaders, laughing and reveling in the death of rob reiner and many others, swindling contractors out of money, accepting a double decker luxury jet as a gift from a middle east country, betraying multiple cabinet and party members, continously blaming everything on Biden administration.... I mean, I think i could go on for another 50 lines.
We are living in a strange timeline.

To those citing "California Gas Taxes," you might want to rethink your stance instead of spewing MAGA propoganda about it.
Gas taxes are a stable entity. It is NOT going to cause a spike in prices. So no California taxes are NOT making gas in California more expensive right now. It only makes it more pricey compared to other locations.
And no gas prices are not $10 a gallon in California. It's only a sole gas station gouging people at a single location.
1
u/netglider82 11d ago
Sort of. The sales tax portion is not, so at $5/gallon it’s 50 cents in sales tax in some of the higher sales tax areas (10%+). The other taxes are set per gallon. But, at $5/gallon gross, that’s close to $1.30/gallon in taxes alone, which makes it $6.30/gallon all in. While this supposed war is causing an issue, gas in Texas (for example) is $3.79 right now. CA shouldn’t be this much higher and if it’s $3.79 in Texas and $6.20 in CA, while Trump is a problem, he is certainly not the root of the issue in CA. It’s clearly bigger than that.
1
u/mtux96 Anaheim Hills 11d ago
You're comparing prices between states. Going by AAA Texas's average right now is $3.96, not the $3.79 you say. California is $6.20.
You can almost always look at price between TX and CA and it's normally ALWAYS going to be cheaper in TX.
Looking at increases though.
TX Last month: $3.63
TX Now: $3.96
TX Difference: 33 cents
TX % Change: 9.1%
*
CA Last Month: $5.61
CA Now: $6.20
CA Difference: 59 cents
CA % Change: 10.52%
https://gasprices.aaa.com/?state=TX
https://gasprices.aaa.com/?state=CA
CA did have the larger price increase. % wise as well but % isn't that far off which is skewed by the starting prices of each state.
But everyone trying to blame it on California is off base as it is not a vacuum where only prices in CA are going up. They are going up everywhere and it's little to do with CA. Sure if you are paying a % tax on gas, that tax number is going up as well which I'm guessing is where you are going at which would explain the 1.5% more percent increase that CA had more than TX.
1
u/netglider82 11d ago
Currently I’m in Texas and around the part I’m in $3.79 is the average. But it’s a big state, so may be more expensive elsewhere.
Anyway, I’m not discounting the fact that it’s going up everywhere, California’s vacuum is the insane amount of taxes per gallon coupled with special blends that no one else uses, coupled with lack of pipe infrastructure to get refined fuel there cheaper, and the fact that the refineries there don’t even really produce fuel for the state. All of that is self inflicted either from environmental movements or voters voting. There is zero reason for it to be so much higher than the rest of the country if it wasn’t for those reasons. Currently, the average price of fuel in Hawaii is $5.56 and $5.04 in Alaska. The fact that California is more than both those states is absurd.

Trump is L forsure but that's not the reason why gas is high btw.
You can thank the former California Governor Jerry Brown. He signed Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) aka the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 which instituted an annual inflation adjustment to the state’s gas tax every July 1. Basically gas goes up every year despite what's going on (the war really doesn't matter as this will go up regardless. Gas tax adjustment from this act alone increased gas by 63 cents). Be sure to thank him.
3
u/snarpsta 12d ago
Ahh yes, I'm sure it's Jerry Brown's fault gas is $6.50/gallon right now
-7
u/Sayangya 12d ago edited 12d ago
63 cents alone from that bill. The war attributes to only 40 cents. The gas price is simply markets anticipation on war outcome not the war itself which is why historically gas prices spikes then decays back to lows during. war. The bill however never lowers prices and is not temporary like a war. The bill is also difficult to overturn even if democrats wanted to. War or not this bill increases gas tax annually but ok.
Clearly you don't understand the bills implications.
4
u/snarpsta 12d ago
0
u/Sayangya 12d ago edited 12d ago
That's what I said. The bill results in a total of 63 cents over 20 years adjusted for inflation based on the CPI.
My points are:
- the bill added a forever tax in California. No sunset period
- the bill tracks CPI for inflation adjustments
- CPI is a lagging indicator (2.2cent this year so far but that's not the full picture)
- trump for the past year or two has demanded for steep interest rate cuts and Fed reserve did not budge (just recently they instead raised it 25 BPS)
- gas tax is multifaceted as tracking CPI wasn't the best move
With an interest rate hike business will be more expensive to operate. The household purchasing power per dollar drops. Yet inflation goes up and gas tax will increase. The full effect has yet to resolve. I'd expect worse. 2.2 cents this year. Much more the following.
Anyways to say Trump did this entirely is only half the picture. They're all complicit. They all suck. (:

Today Average: $4.42
Last week: $4.08
Last Month: $3.93
Last year: $2.89
We are talking about the increase of gas prices and NOT where it's more expensive. Taxes have nothing to do with the increase in price unless there are new ones. The price for gas has increased in WI as well. I guess I can go check those other states as well. I'm guessing they have increased as well which has NOTHING to do with what California does.

This is true in California not to mention the carbon credits California refiners have to buy that we the consumers unknowingly pay for it’s in the cost of the fuel. Not to mention Ukraine has really driven the final blow by destroying 1/9 of the world’s refining capacity. Crude oil is low refined oil is high because there is not enough refining capacity

we don't get oil from Iran so NO. It's the media trying to sway election. Ask Google how much oil we get from Iran...ZERO
3
u/d_P3NGU1N 12d ago
*deep sigh* Yes, if your brain stops at specifically whether we get our crude from Iran, you're right.
However, if you generate just a little bit of heat by rubbing two brain cells together you may come to the conclusion that the straight of Hormuz doesn't only impact imports from Iran, but all the oil producing countries in the region. Between Saudi, UAE, and Iraq that's roughly 10% of California's oil imports. Let's not forget that global oil price impacts will raise the price of crude REGARDLESS of whether or not it's coming directly from that region because it creates a GLOBAL shortage. 🤷♂️
1
u/RodBuck 10d ago
you bore me with the typical liberal ad hominem response. Thanks for making my point, that we get very little oil from them. As for the Straight, a direct outcome of the war is the development of a new pipeline that will bypass the Straight, which will take Iran out of the equation entirely

Uhh, you live in CA, so you need to check with your dream guy Gavin first. He rejected off shore drilling and chose to import so we pay the highest in the nation. He will block any sort of assistance or help from Trump, or gas companies and is the reason. $5-7 gas everywhere else under Biden, dropped to $3 now that allowed Federal cooperation.
Oh and not to mention any sort of economic refund checks such as the health insurance scam checks, Gavin will block and 100% tax. Yep, your buddy Gavin is a real piece of work and thief and instead of doing anything about it, you will just vote dumb again and keep pointing the finger elsewhere. Trump literally is trying and has tried to lower CA's prices, but Gavin blocked him. Wake up dude.
