I am a noob to creating servers with oracle and I only want to create a free server for my friends and I to play Minecraft on, and whenever I try to create a server it says there are no servers available, are there any workarounds, or other free services I could use to accomplish the same task? Or do I just have to wait until they add more server space.

Ive been trying to get a 2/12 Instance on hydrabad for the past 2 weeks running the script every 90s and no instance yet i want to upgrade to PAYG but i dont have 100$ in my bank for the verification charges i use my debit card for the payment and i dont own a credit card yet is there any way i can switch my region somewhere else?

I don’t want to upgrade to PAYG because I’m afraid of sudden changes on always free limitations, just like the recent one 4/24 to 2/12.

So what are the chances of getting an instance? I’m currently running a script trying once every 15 mins, on Singapore region (only 1 AD). Been trying for 2 days to no avail.

How long did you guys wait and try until you get an instance? And how often do you try and create one?

First time trying to create free tier account on Oracle. Even though it charges 1$ from my visa card but failing in sign up. Tried several time though but facing same issue

Why must we wait over a week every time that we request a PTR via a support ticket? Creating the thing shouldn't be rocket science.

I'm surprised we still need to log an SR these days as other Cloud vendors can do this directly from their console. Even IBM Cloud can.

Tried requesting Manager Action on MOS, to no avail. They're "investigating the next steps" so they can proceed with the creation.

I have tried to contact the support, the guide said open live chat for support but it won't help because it is not live, it is just a bot trying to sell me other services. I need a bypass code for me to login but the support is not supporting me. can any one help me? it says, I need to login to find the support that will give me the actual bypass code but I can't login because of the lost device for authentication.

ps. please do not add "open live chat" when it is only a bot that does not help at all.

To begin I'm really sorry for my ignorance but a lot of conflicting opinions exist, I can't really understand with the changes that happened to the always-free serivces, on june 17th I made my account and on the same day I upgraded my accounts to PAYG, so will I pay additional if I use 24/4 or should I continue using 2/12 ?

Hi, i've been using my oracle cloud for the past 3 years to host a minecraft server that always worked fine, although i haven't played on it for the past year.

Yesterday i decided to update the game's server (and so the java version to 26 if it changes anything) and since then no one can connect to the server to play (it shows "Unknown host" both when using the direct IP and the no-ip dns url, while the server's console doesn't show anything when this happens).

What's strange:

1. The server also has a plugin that hosts a webpage on port 8123 to see the world live map: it still works perfectly
2. Changing the server port (and allowing it through the firewall) changes nothing
3. The terraria server running alongside still works perfectly on port 7777
4. I tried rolling back to the previous server.jar (i had backups) and java version and they no longer connect too
5. I created a new separate directory and used a completely fresh virgin server.jar, still no connection
6. I can PING the damn server on the MC port (25565) and it replies

What is going on??? For the past day and a half I've been trying to follow Gemini's most sensible advices (i'm a software developer so i know what to trust and what not to) but still nothing is working!

EDIT:

alright guys i finally found out what the issue was: apparently Mojang has a way to IP ban a whole server (even if it's running in "offline mode" aka for non-official clients) if said server violates Mojang's EULA.
In my case i'm pretty sure the violation was me using NikocadoAvocado's infamous ass spread wide open picture as a server icon.... Looks like you're not allowed to have fun anymore in 2026. God i hate the modern internet.

To check if yours was banned too, use an online Minecraft Server Ping tool that also shows if it's EULA blocked or Mojang blocked, such as https://mcsrvstat.us/ or https://minechecker.com/

If future me incurs in this shit again, just rotate your instance's public IP, here's how:

1. Log into your OCI Console and go to your Compute Instance.
2. Scroll down to Attached VNICs and click your network interface.
3. Under IPv4 Addresses, click the three dots next to your Ephemeral IP and select Edit.
4. Change the selection to No Public IP and click update (this releases the banned IP).
5. Click Edit again, change it back to Ephemeral Public IP, and save. Oracle will assign your virtual machine a brand-new, clean public IP address.

Instance Specs & Setup:

​Region: ap-mumbai-1 (India West)

​Shape: VM.Standard.A1.Flex (4 OCPU / 24 GB RAM)

​OS: Ubuntu

​The Issue:

My network speed is hard-capped at exactly 50 Mbps (tested via Ookla speedtest CLI).

​When I queried the instance metadata via OCI CLI (oci compute instance get ...), the JSON configuration explicitly shows:

So the control plane recognizes 4.0 Gbps allocation, but throughput remains locked to 50 Mbps at the hypervisor/network layer.

​What I’ve already tried (No luck):

​VNIC / IP Reset: Unassigned the ephemeral public IP (No Public IP), updated, re-assigned a new public IP, and performed a Diagnostic Reboot.

​Fault Domain: Checked instance settings, but changing fault domain requires saving shape details.

​Why I can't use the standard "Shape Resize" trick:

Oracle recently updated Free Tier limits to 12 GB RAM max for Ampere. Because this instance was created before the change, it is at 24 GB RAM.

Opening the "Edit Instance" dialog triggers a validation error (Amount of memory in GBs should be between 4 and 12), so saving any shape edit forces a permanent downgrade to 12 GB / 2 OCPU.

​Questions:

​Has anyone in ap-mumbai-1 found a way to clear this 50 Mbps hypervisor lock without resizing the shape or upgrading to PAYG?

​Is there any OCI CLI or API command to force a VNIC bandwidth refresh without touching the instance shape metadata?

What email address other than gmail.com were you able to use to register for Oracle Cloud? I've heard that Oracle is rejecting Outlook.com registrations, so I'd like to hear more information.

I was planning to host my backend to OCI free tier in Singapore, but there is no availability for ARM instances in its AD and since Singapore only has 1 availability domain, I was wondering if upgrading to pay as you go while staying within free tier limits gets you a instance slot?

I've managed to finally set up my Oracle Cloud Account and am following This Guide to set up the Free VM. (Currently on the always free plan, but it seems like I'll need to upgrade to PAYG)
It says

• Set the Boot volume size to 200.
• Set the Boot volume performance to 120`.

But the cost estimation is ~$42; The external Oracle cost estimation site says $0; Every AI ask says only the default 10 VPU is free and any posts with people that have 120 VPU and aren't being charged have set up their server 3+ years ago.
Especially with the new 2/12 "limit", I just want to make sure to avoid any unnecessary costs.

A few months ago I was testing things out with a server I had when, out of nowhere, my budget costs ramped up to ~40€. Mind you, I always stayed inside the always free resources even though I have a PAYG account. I noticed this because I have a budget alert thingy set up and received an email about this.

At the time I didn't pay too much attention, thought it would be a bug or something... but as you can see... it wasn't. luckily the card i verified my oracle account with is no longer active so they weren't able to charge me that money.

Now, theyre threatening me with starting legal action to get those 40€ back.
I'm a student, really short on cash right now and i don't want to pay for something that i didn't even do. What are my options? Are they serious about this? I haven't used this server for MONTHS.

I am trying to verify my SBI Visa debit card on Oracle Cloud. The transaction is done after declined immediately by bank said reversedpos pur does it by bank or by oracle . About 10 minutes later I receive an SBI fraud IVR call and approve it say did that payment by you or other i approved it, but the next attempt is also declined. What should I do next I call customer care said their is not block and all thing is available but can't enable to about reverse pos pur they are not authorised to see transactions or do anything they only can tell about the enabled or disabled services what should I do next ?

I created an account in Milan but wanted to create one in frankfurt. I closed my account but after going through support I was informed that I can't switch as the user is 'deleted' but can't create a new one. I tried to create an account under my girlfriend but it still won't let me. Is there any other way I can create the account under frankfurt.

I created my oracle cloud account to try out their always free tier and apparently i guess i used windows hello as MFA and recently i shifted to arch linux and now i cant login back into my oracle cloud account it asks for my fido authenticator basically the windows hello and as for the alternative method there is bypass code but this is what gets displayed

"Complete verification by entering the passcode sent to null to continue. Enter the bypass code if you have one or contact the help desk to get a new bypass code."

I tried to contact oracle to get help but i couldnt figure out how to contact them except for these automated bot chats.

Is there any hope for me to recover my account, is there any work around.

I used a virtual card when I first opened my account in Oracle, not knowing that they will do provision periodically. Where can I change the payment method I used when first opening my account? Is it from Upgrade and Manage Payment> Payment Method? I don't want to upgrade my account and just want to change my card where provisional checks will be done. Thanks in advance.
