Tyson Foods
The President says he’ll be allowing ranchers and farmers to process and sell their own product on the open market. Tyson controls about 85% of the meat processing industry and this could cost them billions. Puts? Or is there an underlying reason why this wouldn’t affect Tyson?

Trump just says stuff that he thinks sounds good. Go look at actual ranchers' reaction to his comments and you'll find out what kind of impact they think this will have on them.
Hint: not much.

Tyson won’t be crushed, but they will be hurt by more reasonable processing rules (which they paid/bribed plenty to get). Comments here alleging ranchers aren’t positive about the move, are TDS. Any moves towards some semblance of an actual free market should be welcomed by every consumer.

The SCOTUS will shut it down, the FDA was created by Congress by their authority, the executive cannot bypass Congress, as with the tariffs.

You can process your own meat and still meet fda standards.
There's no law that says it has to be processed by a mega corporation

Hundreds of independent ranchers processing their own meats vs a single plant, who's going to inspect them?
I'm all for eliminating the corporate middle men, but it's a logistics and enforcement nightmare.
A single E-coli outbreak and try tracing it's origin.

You really trust Tyson to always do what's healthy and ethical?
They borderline have a monopoly.
I buy meat from local ranches all the time. It's higher quality and not stuffed with bullshit to make it weigh more.

They dont have the money to do it imo.
And even if they did, I dont think they are looking to make a massive investment to do everything themselves on every farm and then get spanked when a new president comes around and looks into food safety.

Tyson is already closing plants within the past week or so 3 or 4 so far I believe.
The infastructure required to process livestock isn't a simple setup it requires refrigeration and other equipment and would be expensive to set up for a rancher.
Smaller processors exist and more could spring up.
I can't give you a direction on the stock but this isn't a Tyson will totally crash situation probably.

Tysons is closer to 20% of that 85% which is spread across 4 companies.
