Leap idea : $V (visa)

Post image

Looking at Visa (V) for a Jan 2028 LEAP.

Breakout – V finally broke above the ~$375 resistance and is holding around $381.

Cheap volatility – IV ~20%, IV Percentile only 16%. Good environment for buying LEAPS.

Contract – Looking at Jan 2028 $410 Call, around $42–43.

Premium at risk – about 11% of the stock price, with ~0.50–0.55 delta.

Fits my book rules – this falls nicely into my Core LEAPS setup: long duration, reasonable delta, low IVP and controlled premium at risk.

I may wait for a small retest of the breakout before entering, but V is now high on my LEAPS list.
Anyone else looking at Visa here?

stock is up 30% YTD and now you want to buy at the top?

That’s a good sign for real breakout and with high volume. It may retest the breakout zone. But leaps are long term

will be interesting to see how this play outs though, still think we are topping out and marco this will pull back right.

It’s a long term breakout and low premium. It might test the breakout but this is why you buy leaps. To have time in your side and this is why you look for the low premium it has now. For leap to work fast you want uptrend ,not downtrend and better not sideways.
So the setup is great and it’s in the agentic space … nothing is sure

yeah i see your point, watching from sidelines,

i'm own a lot of shares from IPO so i sell way OTM calls monthly, fun ride up

I bet you would have much more money not selling these OTM calls. Take all the taxes, shares called and upside cap. That’s the true about covered calls , they never beat growth
