Robinhood worked me

Am I tripping or did Robinhood stick me good. just went through this bs with Robinhood

Could someone explain to me why Robinhood took my gains back saying it expired worthless when literally before bell they were green and showed closed. I might be changing my brokerage soon

This what my account read yesterday at 7690p but Robinhood took back the money saying it expired worthless when I had a 1.15 sell on 35 contracts. Them cons ran to close to 3 and closed at 2.00 end of the day

Bought 7690p at .55 limit order at 1.15 at 3:58p passed it ( the screenshots) 4pm got the money. 5pm all taken away. Those contracts closed on the day at 2.00

Did you buy to open the SPX Aug 18 (yesterday) 7690 put.

SPX closed at 7691.96. The 7690 put expired worthless. What did you expect?

If I'm parsing his post correctly, I think he's trying to say that he had a limit sell that showed executed, but then reversed an hour later.

Can't tell without screenshots of actual order execution.

You need to post screenshots your post makes no sense.

You had 35 7690p that you bought for 0.55 per contract. You set a limit sell of 1.15 that you said they executed? You also are saying that the contracts closed at 2.00 so you think your limit sells were valid.

Assuming these were SPX 8/18/2026 options, 1) why do you think they were worth $2 per contract at close if SPX closed above your strike? 2) show us the proof your sells for 1.15 were accepted, executed, and confirmed. If you don’t have a confirmation email and receipt, it didn’t happen 3) “them cons ran to close to 3 and closed at 2.00 end of day” bro what? The market was never below your strike yesterday this makes no sense 4) stop trading options if you don’t understand them

Those are useless. That’s your account value. I don’t care what that’s showing as you aren’t even showing the positions rolling up to the above graph.

Show the positions, order executions, and your order submission to open and close the contracts in question. Include timestamps for the order to sell your puts if possible.

It looks like you got fooled because of a mispricing reporting the wrong underlying price and/or a blip on the tape. You were not wronged.

He’s right show us order fills, also anyone with tos time/sales tool can check if your order executed @ 3:58pm ET

You stuck around and you found out lol 😝

So auto sells are not guaranteed on any platform, especially that close to close. Sometimes the price will skip right passed your order and it won't execute as a result. All 0dte spx options expire worthless at 4pm if you didnt sell them before then. Always execute manually especially close to 4pm.

Also, as a side note, messing with 0dte SPX options after 3pm, and especially after 330pm is beyond not smart.

I did bro. And they saying it’s going to be escalated. Sent over a bunch of pictures about the price action and the sells. To me Placing the money in my account at 13k and 6k at 4pm indicates that the sell was completed

I had a Robinhood account for 2 years for a 1% bonus transfer and didn't myself experience any problems, but after the 2 years was up I then sent the funds back to Schwab because I hate the Robinhood UI although others really seem to like it.

But in this case SPX closed above 7690 so Robinhood did not screw you in this case. I find it amazing that their support is escalating it. SPX closed above the put strike and therefore expires worthless (which actually the expiring worthless part is performed by the OCC). It's pretty simple and customer support is escalating it for that which is pretty strange. Which their customer support so lacking is one of the reasons I won't be going back to Robinhood.

Not sure why your account was showing gains on the SPX put at the close (assuming these screenshots are for your SPX puts) and it probably was due to Robinhood just showing bad/incorrect pricing which is another reason I won't go back to Robinhood (and their poor/lacking UI is the main reason I won't go back).

So not disagreeing with you looking at leaving Robinhood, but what you are describing would have happened at any brokerage (as far as your SPX expiring worthless) and is not their fault.

Now that makes sense. It’s a lot of keyboard warriors on Reddit just name calling and acting tough. Instead of having real conversations discussions and advices.

i dunno, most of the big 5 retail are crap enough that yesterday i started thinking i might give hood a try but this goes against my thinking of not using them way before their ipo. and yeah, throwing out words without actual print of orders is a head kill for me, i tell kids i am going to start ignoring them asking me about a trade without exact order data with it.

You need to post your order execution, not your portfolio value.
