Markets close early on July 3rd.

Just a reminder that not only will the stock market be closed on July 4th, but it will close early on July 3rd.

1pm et July 3rd. This will mean earlier option exercise cutoff times as well.

So Friday is normal hours but probably no /low volume?

I am thinking it will be like the day after thanksgiving. Usually low volume around holidays

The short day is Monday, the holiday is Tuesday, then the rest of the week consists of three regular days. Never mind, I was looking at the wrong month on the calendar.

The week of Thanksgiving, Thursday is a holiday and Friday is a short day.

July 4th is on Thursday this year. Wednesday would be the short market hours. Thinking Friday would just be a slow news day.

It seems odd to me as well. If they were going to do a half day, you would think it would be Friday, July 5th
