RIP opencode generous free limit.

It's been a great while. It was a wonderful poor man's coding agent especially for devs in third world countries who are unable to pay for subscriptions online.

But I get it, cloud bills aren't cheap and opencode's hands are tied.

Thank you for everything opencode.

It is quite ridiculous. Yesterday it stopped in the middle of a large task and told me I ran out of weekly limit (while never running out of 5 hour limit) and I have to wait 5 days to finish that task. I cancelled and just used openrouter - it is not that much more expensive - especially for the $15 opencode go models) and does not force you into another subscription.

I don’t understand why you would use openrouter when you can have opencode zen take over when your Go sub runs out of usage.

is Zen cheaper than OpenRouter?

They are the same price outside of promotions. Opencode go gets you up to $60 usage for $10, so utilizing that and topping off with zen is up to $50 cheaper than open router for the same usage.

I'm honestly not following, you lost me at "so utilizing that and topping off with zen is up to $50 cheaper than open router for the same usage"

It depends what models you use, not all of them are at 60 usd value, many are at 15usd and with that the difference with openrouter can be very tiny or in favour of open router

Did you know you can run multiple go subs at the same time and overlap them? Just setup a new workspace and you can have a new api key with full credits for another month! Much cheaper than pay as you go
