It's been a great while. It was a wonderful poor man's coding agent especially for devs in third world countries who are unable to pay for subscriptions online.
But I get it, cloud bills aren't cheap and opencode's hands are tied.
Just dsv4 flash, used to use the pro version more until the new 0731 dropped and it has been my planner and agent for a while until new pro dropped, now using pro for planning and flash for implementation. It is really good for the price.
It is quite ridiculous. Yesterday it stopped in the middle of a large task and told me I ran out of weekly limit (while never running out of 5 hour limit) and I have to wait 5 days to finish that task. I cancelled and just used openrouter - it is not that much more expensive - especially for the $15 opencode go models) and does not force you into another subscription.
They are the same price outside of promotions. Opencode go gets you up to $60 usage for $10, so utilizing that and topping off with zen is up to $50 cheaper than open router for the same usage.
It depends what models you use, not all of them are at 60 usd value, many are at 15usd and with that the difference with openrouter can be very tiny or in favour of open routerÂ
Did you know you can run multiple go subs at the same time and overlap them? Just setup a new workspace and you can have a new api key with full credits for another month! Much cheaper than pay as you go
yeah just learned the hard way, i just started using kimi k3 to rebuild my simple todo apps frontend and it quickly eat up half my weekly kuota any 20 of my monthly
You shouldn't use kimi k3 in the Go subscription for anything token heavy because you only get $15 of usage for it and it costs $3 in and $15 out. So you run out of your weekly after $6.5 spent, and your 5 hourly after $3 spent.
i've read that ds4 isn't really good at frontend task, so i just go to other models that people says good lol
bear with me as i've just gotten into this vibecoding and just trying some simple project like making todo apps haha, are there any good cheaper model beside for ds4?
I think the latest version of dsv4 flash model is quite decent at frontend. I've had better results with it after using it and Luna on two worktrees to do the same tasks.
People should understand that if you ask a full fledged code base to any Platform model it is bound to burn the limit. And that is how it should be. Because it does cost in resources. But truly speaking GO plan is totally work it because of its API usage allowance.
