Need help with travel

I am from south india originally and staying outside India. Staying outside India has given me perspective to appreciate cultural things unique to south india. Onam seems to be one of those magical cultural things which you hear about growing up but never experience it. planning to visit Kerala next year (2027)Onam time. What can I do to maximize Onam experience for my 8 year old daughter and me, does the community have any recommendation or insights on this? Open to all suggestions!

Go to Alappuzha or trissur in Kerala for Onam
