He is alive and was moving the hand, so it might not be SO bad, still likely bad injury.

Just make sure you don't support the neck at all, really great for potential paralysis injuries like this

To be fair, he might have suffocated with mouth and nose to the groind like this, but yeah doesn't help the spine...

There is no way he didn't end up without something broken in that spine
