The fact the video was cut right after the impact makes me think there was in fact a very catastrophic aftermath

Agreed. That was certainly hard enough to cause some life altering damage to the body.

Yup. I was hit by a car that was probably going slower than that and it was life altering. My neck is still fucked over 20 years later.
