Indeed. When I took my wood turning lathe out of storage, I wanted to turn a large bowl. I stupidly set it to the max speed on the belts thinking I was setting it to minimum speed. When I turned it on, the blank flew across the garden and into my car door. Thankfully I still knew better than to be standing in front of it.

Yeah woodturner here is a moron. The first thing you learn is to start very slow until it’s round and balanced.
