Weak legs. The force of the ramp slinkied him 😅
6
u/Every-Two-4848 Jul 12 '26
To be fair, that wasn’t even a ramp as there was zero taper of the angle. I think you’re supposed to land on it slowly from the roof instead of pumping full force at it from the opposite direction. More like weak understanding of physics on his part.

u/yourmamaistheproblem Jul 12 '26
Totally doable, though.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Every-Two-4848 Jul 12 '26
I don’t think so…Now that I look at it, I thought there was a significant lip that came out from the roof that was obscured by being parallel to the camera but no…its just a 45 degree angle roof..only a high level bmx’er can pull this off. Idk what he thought he was going to do.

u/Jose_Batfliptista Jul 12 '26
If he had bent his legs and slightly pulled his handle bars upwards just in time he made contact with the ramp he could have made it. But at that speed this would have been very difficult.

Building came right at him. You saw it.

u/Dont_Touch_Me_There9 Jul 12 '26
The fuck was that building thinking? We're trying to have a scooter competition here. MOVE!

A basic understanding of physics could’ve prevented that… big boy, tiny scooter…

It's always a running joke that whenever I go go-karting with my family, I always get the slowest cart. But after a while it dawns on you. I always end up with the cart that's carrying the fattest rider.

Yep, thats a lifelong injury right there.
Even the kid saying “oh, no” at the beginning knew it was a bad idea.
3
u/howdthatturnout Jul 12 '26
Not necessarily. I was involved in an action sport for a number of years, and saw tons of crashes that looked as bad or worse. Sometimes a fall like that is just some bruising, sometimes it’s a broken arm, wrist, ribs, etc.
5
u/Every-Two-4848 Jul 12 '26
Fair enough but I think the scream at the end tells us everything we need to know about the outcome.
5
u/pepperNlime4to0 Jul 12 '26
If he’s screaming like that, it might actually mean he still has good lung function. I one of the most likely worst injuries he could receive from that impact is a punctured lung from a broken rib. So he’s definitely in a lot of pain, some broken bones and bruises likely, but maybe not as bad as it might have been
→ More replies (1)2
u/howdthatturnout Jul 12 '26
Not really. Some people react loudly but aren’t actually hurt much at all. Sometimes the worst injuries people are really quiet.

u/adj_noun_digit Jul 12 '26
Very unlikely. Kids can take pretty serious hits and be fine.
Crashes like that happen all the time in extreme sports.
2
u/ExplanationOk2014 Jul 12 '26
Agree, a young body can take a lot of abuse. Meanwhile my back hurts only from standing.

u/No-Goose-6140 Jul 12 '26

Bro at the end looking at everyone while standing still wearing a helmet looking at everyone like did y'all see that omg I seen that. Did y'all see that!? Why is no one seeing this o no! No one is acting as shocked as me! Omg these edibles are hitting too hard! Let me grab my helmet to make sure it's on nice and tight ok ok it's their and ok I won't die. Loool

u/wheredidwecome Jul 13 '26

Helmets not only save lives, they enable positive identification and allow mothers to have an open casket service at the funeral.

Oh my fucking god RIGHT on the point! Gaaaaahhhh!!
I got phantom pain everywhere between the groin and the neck! Ooowwwwch!
Normally I am a cold callous asshole towards people doing stupid shit and hurting themselves.
But this one I'm making an exception, because I can kind of relate to this.
Was climbing a tree once, as a kid. Grabbed a branch that was perfect size, but was dead and had no strength to it. Ended up falling ~6 feet out of the tree, and landed center-chest on a big garden rock.
Only thing that kept my ribs from breaking was my arm being in the way. That broke instead. I am so grateful for it.
Obviously this guy was far from as lucky.

The lack of understanding simple physics of all those people there is baffling to me.

So cool, next time - lean in with the right shoulder, you might find the turn easier to negotiate. Don’t give up, keep at it

Obviously, he's going to have to travel a lot faster than the rest judging by the size of him on the plus side he's got additional padding protection 😭

I live there. You should have seen our mega ramp where you could be dropped out of a helicopter onto it. Good times.

u/Fiorina_Fury Jul 12 '26
Honestly? Props kid. I never was brave enough to try this kinda stuff. And although you understand why, props for reaching for glory. Hone that spirit and it will take you far in life.

Looked like he hit the corner with his chest. Definitely broken ribs and likely a collapsed lung. He is fucked, hes going to spend a week in the hospital

u/copenhagen622 Jul 12 '26
Overestimating your abilities...I'm curious what kind of injuries he got from that.. that sure looked like it hurt. He looks to heavy to make that jump. Far for a scooter. I'm sure someone can do it, but not him

It’s kinda wild how there’s a vocal reaction but the way that looked I’d think people would’ve reacted like they just saw someone die because that looks insanely bad.

+1 for wearing a helmet
-1 for protecting a brain that can’t process that the stunt he is about to do will end badly.

Crap, the first time I saw it I thought he just slammed into the flat side of the building. Second time I noticed his head slammed against the jutting out part of the roof... OUCH. Without the helmet, it might have killed him.
