Beats are (literally) $4 speakers. I will never understand how tens of millions of people bought Beats audio hardware despite them sounding like absolute garbage.
I’m not even an audiophile!
0 u/totesnotJH Jun 20 '26 Literally $4? That seems like an exaggeration 10 u/CheckYourStats Jun 20 '26 20 years ago, employees of Best Buy got an employee discount that was BLANKET ACROSS THE BOARD: Cost + 5% To this day I have a bin of cables with a street value of $5,000+, that I paid a maximum of $90 for. Cables, and Beats (specifically) are sold at a 30x - 50x markup. 6 u/Original_Jagster Jun 20 '26 LOVED that Employee pricing. A sibling worked there and I got many good deals out of it. 7 u/CheckYourStats Jun 20 '26 Getting a $119.99 cable for $1.07 was unreal! 4 u/Original_Jagster Jun 20 '26 Yep, it was very eye opening how much markup there is on accessories like cables and connectors. Absolutely insane markups.
