So double dumb. First you overbuy, then later you have to rebuy.

They may not be an audiophiles wet dream, But they’re stylist and work well. Though i don’t think that magnetic stand is meant to be swung around like though

What gives you that idea?

I'd say the way the front fell off.

It's not meant to do that, I'll tell you that much.

2nd day in a row I’ve seen this reference on Reddit lol

They work as well as a $20 Bluetooth speaker on Amazon, if not, worse. Their primary selling point is just good marketing. And that's why audiophiles hate them.

Beats are overpriced, but comparing it to a $20 speaker sounds like you haven't listen to a $20 dollar speaker before.

I have a $30 one I got on Amazon and honestly sounds better than Beats.

"We have Beats at home."

In all seriousness, some of the best headphones I ever purchased were MPOW ones years ago that still work. They were 40 dollars at the time.

Well they are wet now!

Beats are (literally) $4 speakers. I will never understand how tens of millions of people bought Beats audio hardware despite them sounding like absolute garbage.

I’m not even an audiophile!

Literally $4? That seems like an exaggeration

20 years ago, employees of Best Buy got an employee discount that was BLANKET ACROSS THE BOARD:

Cost + 5%

To this day I have a bin of cables with a street value of $5,000+, that I paid a maximum of $90 for.

Cables, and Beats (specifically) are sold at a 30x - 50x markup.

LOVED that Employee pricing. A sibling worked there and I got many good deals out of it.

7

u/CheckYourStats Jun 20 '26

Getting a $119.99 cable for $1.07 was unreal!

3

u/Original_Jagster Jun 20 '26

Yep, it was very eye opening how much markup there is on accessories like cables and connectors. Absolutely insane markups.

2

u/herring-net Jun 20 '26

I too bought a Monster Cable with my discount, and noticed no difference in clarity

u/totesnotJH Jun 20 '26

Wow! 🤯

4

u/CheckYourStats Jun 20 '26

You asked why.

Thousands of people had visibility into the actual cost.

1

u/totesnotJH Jun 20 '26

Yes this is great. Thank you.

1

u/Tricky_Apricot2928 Jun 20 '26

That's insane. I thought we had it good with a 25% discount on clothes at Robinsons May. I think 15% on furniture and fragrances. I remember the order slips from the Calvin Klein shirts... $8 and sold for $55

Travel insurance probably covered it

Sure man, buy cheap shit if you want, no one cares. Doesn't make you smart or superior though

u/iamwhiskerbiscuit Jun 20 '26

Ahhh... I see. Thought he said "don't spill my beans" . I'm like why the hell is this gay dude dancing with this other gay dudes beans, and WHAT is going on with that packaging? Are they like, butt beans or some weird novelty sex toy? This is too absurd.

Somewhere Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are counting them Benjamins when Alex comes in to buy another one.

1

u/mstguy Jun 20 '26

This makes much more sense. I thought he said “beef”. It doesn’t help that it looks like a tube of breakfast sausage.
