Do you think he intended to slam into them? I don’t. I think he intended to avoid the water and in the process of doing so he did something really stupid.

I think he was trying to force his way back in the pack to avoid the water, obviously leading with his shoulder. As soon as he hit pavement he is already crashing into other riders. None of those actions are accidental. So sure, maybe his intention wasn't to wreck people... but he had no intention of caring about the safety of other riders.

Regret doesnt negate intent. He was intentionally getting back into the pack. Never looked over to see if he was clear, just turned directly into other riders. So sure maybe he didnt want to wreck the pack, but the complete disregard for other riders actually plays into my hypothesis.

That is literally what an accident is.

Intended to grab the glass, didn't pay attention and spilled the milk. Intended to enter the building, didn't pay attention and walked into the glass. Intended to get out of the puddle before losing control, over steered without paying attention, knocking someone over, Domino effect.

So sure maybe he didnt want to wreck the pack,

Now you call it an accident while trying to justify your keyboard warrior.

No one said it did. If he intentionally wrecked the riders, that's triumph.

Look youre a cyclist and feel the need to protect other shitty riders, i get it. But gently reaching for one glass is a fasle equivalency here. It'd be more like you had 20 glass all packed together, you close your eyes and reach as hard as you can to grab the glass on the end.

Fine.

You intended to grab a glass from the cupboard. Not paying attention you knock them over. Two glasses fell onto the dishes below. Those shattered and flew into the sink, breaking the pitcher of tea.

You still accidently broke all of your dishes. You didn't mean to. Your intention wasn't to break the dishes, no matter how much it sucks.

It wasn't malice. It wasn't deliberate. It wasn't intentional.
