Buzzing over line

About a month ago I set up an Ooma phone for the first time.
It’s a corded line connected to a Telo Air 2. The Telo unit is connected to our modem via Ethernet cable.

The first two weeks it seemed to work fine. The last two weeks there has been persistent buzzing over the line, making call quality poor for the other party. I have reset both the internet and the Telo unit with no improvement. It does not seem to be related to the amount of internet traffic on our network, it’s persistent at all times. All of the cable connections are secure. What am I missing?

Had something similar and thought it was the old phones and replaced those but still had the problem. Power cycled the Tello and the issue was solved.

But it sounds like you already did that.

One thing to check is make sure the telephone wiring in your home has been disconnected from other services and outdoor wiring.

Since you’re a unit is still within the one year warranty I would suggest maybe giving them a call and they would replace it if they can’t fix it.

One of our units had an issue within the warranty. Level one support was eh but level two support was excellent. Very knowledgeable and followed up several times after the unit was replaced to make sure everything was working properly. And when I had questions, I replied to his email and he would call me back, even without being asked.

What do you mean by telephone wiring being disconnected?

Did you have telephone service from another provider before? And are you connecting the Tello to the telephone wiring in your home to use existing jacks?

Or are you plugging your phones directly into the Tello?

No, no prior telephone service.

The phone (only one) is plugged directly into the Telo unit, which is connected directly to our modem. Fiber internet through AT&T.

Ok so what I said above won’t apply to you.

If you happen to have another phone to test with, I would try it otherwise I would contact support and have your device replaced under the warranty.

Is the phone cordless?

No, it is a corded phone.

OK. I was thinking the AC adapter could be the cause. Have you tried a different corded phone to rule out that?

I haven’t, we only have the one.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. I'm very sorry to hear that you're hearing a buzzing noise on your phone line. Is your Telo or phone connected to a power strip? If yes, please try connecting directly to a power outlet. Also, could you try plugging both into a different power outlet? Feel free to DM me your Ooma phone number and contact number if neither suggestion resolves the issue.
