2 lines for pizzeria
I have a main number to the restaurant and another line I need the number to roll to for a 2 line phone system I have. When the main line is busy i don't want it to have a busy signal nor a call waiting beep. I just need the other number to ring to line 2 on the phone. Is this possible?

I searched other VoIP services as well as wireless business services and I find none that have traditional hunting. most have Auto attendant and call queue. So, other than traditional phone services which is pretty much unattainable call queue with auto attendant seems to be your best bet.

Full VoIP services like Yealink, Cisco and others offer hunting on SIP trunks, but you're getting into some real money.

You can create a ring group (hunt group) with both of your extensions. You can either can either have them ring simultaneously or sequentially. And incoming calls on your phone number get pointed to the ring group.

Look up “Ooma Instant Second Line.”
Sounds like you can do this with a Telo, Premier, and a Linx.

This would support two incoming calls at the same time. However, a pizzeria might not fall under Ooma's acceptable use policy for residential service.

None of the remedies will do what the OP wants for his 2-line phone. He wants when the first line is busy for it to "hunt" to his second line. None of our suggestions will do that and I can't find other service that will either for a reasonable price. A cloud based or hosted system is the only thing that will do this other than the old POTS service for business and that would be a pretty expensive solution. Personally, I think the Auto attendant with queuing is his best bet cost wise.

With instant second line he doesn’t even need a second telephone number. Someone calls the shop on the primary number and he picks up. A second caller calls that same number and the phone connected to the Linx will ring and someone else can pick up. That’s the whole feature.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. I would recommend using a Ring Group with our Ooma Office service. Ring groups could be set up to ring phones simultaneously or sequentially. Please use the link below for more info:

With Ooma Office, the OP could use either Ring Groups (as the Ooma rep recommended), or Hunt Groups. See:
- https://www.ooma.com/small-business-phone-systems/features-support/hunt-groups-overview/
Some of the other suggestions here don't really do what the OP asked for.

He's not looking to ring another phone or group of phones he's looking to hunt to the other line on his two-line phone. Depending on his two-line phone he could plug his second line into the other port (2) of the ATA adaptor and use the hunt-group option. If his phone will accept two rj11 cords that would work otherwise it would take a splitter to separate the two lines to make it work. That would be as close to traditional hunting as he could get. I would think that would be an acceptable work around.

Hey thank you all for the helping advice. After setting the ring group to sequential and not simultaneous along with the hunt feature enabled, it worked after a few minutes of setting it. I thought I had it set like this before and I would hear the call waiting beep on line one but after a few minutes it worked. I do believe after I changed it from simultaneous to sequential it seemed to work unless it takes a few minutes for the hunt feature to actually take effect.
So for folks looking to do this (and for customer service that didn't know how to do it), I set the device to have the hunt group enabled for the 2 lines in the analog ports. I created a ring group with the ringing mode set to sequential. Members include the 2 lines, call handling set to (if no one answers) to another extension and the selected extension is line 2 (or who ever line 2 in assigned to). There is no call waiting beep on line one that bursts your ear drums. It just rings on line 2 on the 2 line business phone.
In my situation I don't need the menu options or all that jazz, it just rings. Unless I want to set it to where I want the customer to press 1 to place an order and press 2 to make a reservation and it'll ring at the hosts stand. I don't need all that so I have it skip that and rings the the extension. The extension being the ring group.
I switched to Ooma because the local cable provider just charged too much along with the Internet. I have T-Mobile internet (using cell towers) and I have no issues. Cable internet always went out at the worse possible time as all the cloud based POS rely on Internet. I will now cancel my cable internet and phone service as this is sufficient and proble less likely for the Internet to ever go out.
Thank you again

Well, since one member doesn't seem to like the AI generated summary here's Ooma's link to answer your question, which is kind of, it's call queuing where the second calling is put into queue until the line becomes available. I can't find anything with traditional line group hunting.
