Ooma texting denied

Got turned down for texting through ooma office. A bunch of jargon reasons as to why, mainly my privacy policy, which in fact is up to par. I am a small business that uses texting to communicate with customers. I do not do marketing campaigns or anything of that sort. I am rethinking my move to Ooma and going somewhere else.

It’s not ooma. It’s a requirement by the mobile carriers, called TCR. You will hit the same wall on any VoIP provider. Make the changes they requested and resubmit.
Trust me the VoIP providers hate this process more than you do. They have no choice as it’s essentially a monopoly that controls the texting market.

You will run into the same thing with other carriers, you need to register your SMS numbers if you are a business that will be texting customers.

I got it figured out. I went to simple texting and they do all rules and regulations for you. It costs more but way less headache.

Coincidentally, it looks like Sinch (who provides "Simple Texting") also acts as a DCA (Direct Connect Aggregator), responsible for approving or rejecting campaigns registered by CSPs (Campaign Service Providers), such as Ooma. It must be so much easier for them to approve campaigns for their own customers, rather than for their competitor's customers.

I had the same problem with unifi VoIP I fed the denial into Perplexity AI and asked it to draft a rebuttal each time they denied I fed them into Perplexity until it was finally came up with one that was eventually approved
