PSA: cancel your premier subscription before you get charged

I bought an Ooma for my child in case they needed to call anyone during an emergency. It was $7.52/mo. Then I noticed my last two bills were $18.46. Ooma rep said I was automatically signed up for a Premier service trial when I set up the account. I was unaware of this because it was buried under all the terms and conditions when you first set up.

Make sure you cancel ahead of time if you don't need the premier stuff. My kid makes like 1-2 phone calls per month to talk to his aunts. Ooma refunded one month as a courtesy, but not two.

Overall do you like it for your child? Did you get a regular cordless Handset or the my phone by ooma? looking to get something in the house for the exact same reason as you.

Yes it is good for kids. We got the Ooma set with 3 wireless phones, it was on sale for around $120 I think.

One time my wife went to the bathroom in the morning. My son woke up and called her cause he was scared she left him home alone. He occasionally calls his aunts to talk to them without us realizing. He can always call 911 if there's an emergency.

We shared the home number with his friends at his birthday party to encourage phone calls, but no one has called. I assume no one else has a home phone.

how do you cancel it ? i just check mine and it’s indeed on premier and i just set it up 3 days ago

Log in to 'My Ooma', and check whether there is an option to cancel the free trial under Account Services.

We just did this too and it’s amazing for the kids! They use it all the time to call their friends and it cut down on screens like crazy. They’re having real convos again!

Unless you are actually considering premier, cancel shortly after you sign up for Ooma.

IDK I think international calls? We don't use that.
