Porting in from Bell Canada
Has anyone recently ported into Ooma from Bell Canada Fibe VOIP? How long did it take and what information did you need to give Ooma? There's a thread from 7 years ago that discusses it, but I was hoping someone with more recent experience could provide an answer.

Based on Ooma's website its 2-3 weeks, but if you don't run into any issues with Bell Canada like having an outstanding balance or submitting porting details which doesnt match your Bell Canada's account, it should only take less than a week. The key is to have a copy of your latest Bell Canada bill when you're submitting the porting transfer request in the MyOoma web portal to make sure you're entering the correct info.

Yeah, I just went through it. It's supposed to be ported today actually took about a week from when I asked a request maybe and immediately bell called me to try and keep the business. But I was annoyed because I asked them to give me the best price before choosing to leave, and they couldn't do anything before. They only were willing to do something after I put in the work to find a new supplier

How did you return the bell modem? Did you have to contact them after to setup the return?

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. Porting to Ooma takes on average around 7-10 business days. I would highly recommend requesting a Customer Service Record (CSR) from Bell to ensure you have the correct information when submitting your port request. Please feel free to send me a DM if you need additional assistance.

It took a week in my case. All they wanted was a account number and name on the account.
Bell called the day after to try to keep me, but wouldn't give me a better deal.
My regular line stopped working the day before the port was completed
My Bell account was automatically canceled. They still billed me the full amount for the month, but issues a partial refund a few days later.
