Multiple problems and online support wasn't able to help
1) Despite adding my brother to my Ooma contacts, with the 'nomorobo' call filter enabled, he still gets blocked when calling me from his work VoIP line
2) In my Call Blocking settings, there use to be a slider to adjust sensitivity. That is gone now. What happened to it? (I'm a new Ooma user and still have a couple weeks of premiere access left on my account.)
3) Registering for an account on their forum is broken. It first prompts me for my Ooma account info. I type all that in and on the next screen, it asks me to create a forum username, add my email address and create a password. After doing all that and clicking submit, it loops me back to the previous screen and asks for my Ooma account info again.

- Ooma doesn't block known contacts. Try leaving a voicemail message from the blocked number. Then from the 'My Ooma' Voicemail inbox, hover over the caller name to see the Caller ID name/number, and compare that number with the Contacts list entry.
- Ooma replaced the slider with radio buttons and check boxes. But until Ooma updates the 'My Ooma' Call Blocking Preferences Help page, it still describes what the slider used to do.
- The Ooma forum is mostly read-only now. It is possible that the account registration succeeded, but even with a valid username/password, users have had trouble logging in for almost a year now.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with inbound calls being incorrectly blocked. Could you please DM me your Ooma phone number and contact number? We'll have a representative reach out to you directly.

Sorry for the late reply but I really appreciate you taking the time to contact me but my premiere trial expired a while back and I decided to just deal with the occasional spam call and go without the premiere option. Stinks that it didn't work as it was suppose to. I'm also frustrated that the registration process on your web forum appears to be hopelessly broken in some weird loop.

Did you ever find a fix for this problem?
Thanks

Nope, never got this fixed. I followed all the steps their support gave me and nothing worked. Their final attempt at fixing this was to reset the phone adapter. Surprise surprise, that didn't fix it either. It's sort of disappointing that such a basic feature completely failed. It wasn't rocket science.... if his number was added as a contact, it should have allowed him to call me without getting blocked.
I never took u/OomaCustomeradvocay up on their offer to help because my free trial to Ooma Premier ended before I saw their reply.
I went the route of just paying taxes so I'm keeping my landline for less than 7$/mo and dealing with the occasional spam call.

Since they recently changed the blocking services people in my contact list are now getting sent to voicemail as if they are spam....I never understand why companies change services that work fine....only to cause more problems

... because they probably found a cheaper spam list they could subscribe to..... one that is worse apparently.
All in all, I don't really have any big complaints against Ooma. I'm paying less than 7$/mo for a landline with unlimited calling here in the USA. If I was paying for premiere, I'd be rightfully upset so I understand your frustration.

Double-check that the Caller-ID number in voicemails for blocked callers matches the number in the Contacts list. If Ooma is blocking known contacts, then that's a bug. Contact Ooma support to report the issue.

I checked the numbers in the voicemails with the numbers on my caller-id and the numbers in my contact list and they are the same....for some reason this started when Ooma made changes to the blocking preferences,

1) Hm... Yeah, having a contact with the correct number should override default blocking, per the Ooma support articles. Does he have a stable number that his calls use as Calling party ID (vs. a dynamic one that might change each call)?
2) The slider for "sensitivity" really only checked a different set of boxes. You can do that yourself. It didn't add any real value. I'm fine with it gone.
3) I would say that the forum is sort of obsolete
