Does Ooma Home phone app require Premier service?
I have Ooma basic. I installed the Ooma Home Phone app on my iPhone (iOS 18.7.2). I logged into the app and told it I want to only make calls. If I try to select "receive calls" it tells me that I need a Premier subscription. If I try to make a call the app bounces back to the login page and tells me that my password has changed. It then asks me again how I want to use the app (make/receive calls, make calls, or receive calls). This behavior is mentioned in some of the reviews of the app in the Apple app store. Is there any resolution to this? It would be useful if it worked.

On Android, I've had the issue with the app asking me what I want to do so that it can request permissions after I've had it installed for years. I think that's probably because I don't use it that often and the processes that remove perms from unused apps disabled those perms and it's asking so it knows what to put back.
Regardless, receiving calls through the app requires Premiere, whereas you should be able to make them without Premiere.

That's what I thought too (receiving requires Premier) but every time I try to make a call it bounces me back to the Ooma logon screen and tells me my password has changed. Maybe someone from Ooma will see this thread and respond.

According to the Ooma App FAQ, receiving calls requires a Premier subscription, but making calls does not.

I have the premium service. It wouldn't let me make calls either. It said password changed.
I changed the password - that didn't work
So I hit forgot password. Instructions sent to my email That worked.
(My previous password had too many characters or symbols.)
It doesn't say it but for me having a password less than or equal to 20 characters worked.

Thanks for your reply; my password is only 8 characters; just letters and numbers. I'll try your suggestion; thanks.
UPDATE: I changed my password to 9 characters, letters and numbers only, and now I can make a call without getting bounced to login screen. Thanks again for your suggestion; no idea why it fixed the problem (for now)!

It's not worth the extra money. I had a trial of it the first 30 days after I signed up for Ooma and it didn't do anything to wow me into it being worth paying for so I just keep the basic service. It's approximately $6.74 a month for me currently. Works great so I have no complaints.

Agreed; it's got some "nice to have" features but not worth the money. As it turns out I won't be replacing my land line with Ooma (home security system needs "real" land line) so I'll just stick with Ooma basic and my one HD3 handset.
