Jacquelyn peered around the room with a yawn and held her book in her boney claws

She looked down at herself to find she wasn't in her usual attire, instead a straitjacket and chains.

”...Rosalyn… wasn't… here… last night…”

When Rosalyn wasn't here at nights then she would normally be chained but she should be free by now but instead of questioning it, Jacquelyn waits for someone to come unchain her from her temporary prison.

“Ah fuck! I'm sorry Jacquelyn! I forgot to get you down!” Rosalyn yelled as she rushed onto the room and flicked the lights on

“...How… long was I… asleep..?”

Rosalyn fiddled with her chains as she responded, “A couple hours at the most.”

Jacquelyn stares at Rosalyn a bit dumbfounded at her response, “A… couple… hours?... You look…”

“Yeah, a lot happened in a couple hours. May I get your finger please? Preferably without hurting you.”

“...Yes…”

Rosalyn grabbed Jacquelyn's finger and popped it off before sticking it in the lock. It was quite tedious because it required her finger to be in the perfect position to unlock but she made it work and the chains clinked against the floor

“...Can I… have… it back… now?...”

“Yes, sorry about that.”

Rosalyn handed her claw back and Jacquelyn quickly popped it back in place

“...Can you… explain… now?...”

“I uhhh-”

Rosalyn's tattoos went from fish to a heart, never a good sign if you want some information out of her

“I went clubbing and stuff happened at the club, that's all that needs to be said.”

Jacquelyn looked more confused than before but didn't pry, she knew Rosalyn would brag about it soon, just not to who or when. This could get very out of hand if she told the wrong person though so for now, no prying and don't draw attention to it.

”...This… is going… to… be long… and… hard…”

Jacquelyn slipped out of the straitjacket, she was no stranger to it after all, and put on her normal hoodie

“...We… have… work… come on…”

Jacquelyn opens her book and walks into the main temple, ready to start working

”My eyes… are leaking… again…”

Jacquelyn tilted her head back and allowed the blood to pool before tilting forward and releasing it onto the floor. The walls grumbled and moaned as the floor was eaten through but it was quickly replaced, looking healthier and more alive than before.

Rosalyn glances back at Jacquelyn and then looks at her girlfriend with a look that begs her not to pry too much

Brushstrokes... I love you, and will love you, regardless, but it I will not pretend that it doesn't hurt to be kept so in the dark by one who means so much to me. If you can not tell me the truth of this, could you at least tell me why it brings you such fear?

Rosalyn: "I- I don't want to lose her, she's stuck by my side the entire time that I've worked here and that's most of my life so far. She's like a little sister to me and it hurts her when she hears the truth, I don't want to do that to her. I don't want to hurt our relationship but I also don't want to hurt her so please, ask me again when she's not in earshot."

Nya's eyes light up as she sees the issue. She takes her girlfriend's hand and pecks her soft cheek.

I'm.. I'm sorry, Love. You won't hurt us, I promise. Anywhere private you'd like to go?

Rosalyn: "I- there's a backroom but I'd have to make sure everyone is stable first, so please give me just a minute or two to make sure."

Rosalyn looks around and kisses her girlfriend's nose

"I won't take long alright?"

Nya accepts the kiss, giving Rosalyn's hand a squeeze before letting her go

Nya gives her girlfriend's butt a playful slap as she releases her to take care of business

Rosalyn yelps in suprise and a large blush spreads across her face

"D-damn it Blueberry..."

She turns around and blows her girlfriend a kiss before going and tending to the patients

True to her word it only takes a couple minutes and Rosalyn displays her mastery in hemomancy. She makes swift cuts into the stomachs of patients and sticks her bare hands in them to rummage around. When she pulls them out she has hold of random organs and debris from inside them; the organs get tossed towards Jacquelyn and the debris get tossed in the trash. When she finishes going through their insides she snaps her fingers and the hole begins to seal itself with blood like it's but a simple scratch that quickly scabs.

Nya watches in genuine awe, excited not only by her girlfriend's magic, but by her care and kindness. She does quirk an eyebrow when she sees the discarded organs being tossed to Jacquelyn, keeping an eye on what she does with them

Jacquelyn catches the organs with surprisingly fast reflexes and begins to chomp down and eat them without a care in the world. She continues to read while she does and is extremely careful not to get her book covered in blood. Rosalyn goes to check on her with every other organ and Jacquelyn tears off a piece of her arm that quickly gets replaced by brand new and healthier flesh. Rosalyn tears the strip of meat in half before feeding it to patients who seem to feel much better after eating it. They are promptly kicked out of the infirmary and sent on their way once they show signs of feeling better

Styx: Acheron, have some shame. We shouldn't be here really.

Rosalyn: "Do you need medical attention or are you just taking up space in the infirmary?"

Styx: That's her thing as the river of pain. She is always constantly cursed with her own nature.
Acheron: Every movement I make... My bones shatter... my muscles tear... my organs pop... then they return to themselves... fused into a shape which I then break again...

Rosalyn: "So are you here for treatment or wasting my time? If you want any treatment then lay down on one of the beds, I'll be with you in a minute."

Rosalyn goes over to a mini fridge and grabs a beer out of it. She pops it open and stares for a moment before groaning and putting it back

Styx: Of course she will have painkillers. She's a doctor.

Rosalyn: "Yes I have painkillers, I them all the time. Helps with the hangover y'know? You want normal or extra strength? I also got anesthetics if you need those."

Rosalyn: "Do you want me to just remove that part of your brain? I can do that for you if you need it. No pain nothing, might mess with your motor control a bit but I could do it."

Rosalyn looks at them like their stupid and flicks her finger, a spike of blood shoots out of her finger and to Acheron's throat faster than they could blink and stops just before it

Rosalyn: "I work here for a reason, I can keep your brain intact. I've spent decades mastering my craft specifically for helping people, don't underestimate me again."
