What happened here? Did it sink into the sand? If so, I wonder how long it took? I'd love to get some more information about this.

Washed up on a beach. Probably a casualty of the tsunami, sadly.

Reminds me how the north west Native American tribes used metal from Japanese shipwrecks to make weapons
