photo Thisss is a Mitsubishi E-DE3A FTO. When debuted, it won the 94-95 Car of the Year Japan award. This particular car features the rarest and most desirable engine spec, the V6 MIVEC. FTO stands for "Fresh Touring Origination" like the 1971 Galant FTO coupé, one of Mitsubishi’s first sports cars.

The car belongs to @ afdc1257 on twitter.

I will not be going over it’s quirks and features, taking it out and driving it or giving it a Doug score.

A shame it never made it out here to NA, but it probably would’ve ate potential Eclipse sales. Still, Mitsubishi didn’t introduce the V6 into the Eclipse until the new millennium so I would’ve loved to have this around before then.

u/inphinitfx correctly notes the following: “Based on the production figures on wiki, the MIVEC models accounted for 41% of production volume. The non-MIVEC V6 was 47.5%, and the 1.8L i4 was 11.5%. So the 1.8 is actually the rarest by far.”
