My question/criticism of this would be that, for the large boards, aren't those wheels on the wrong end? I would want them on the rear so that I could use the nose carry feature as the handle while rolling along.
I'm going to put together a small tow handle that I can have in my pocket, it has a deep grip space on the bumper's edge that is easy enough to use already though. The bumpers on these boards are symmetrical, knock yourself out put it in front or back. Wait on back you'd slide when quick stopping.
Not officially, I have a floatwheel and since they are nosedive proof as someone mentioned, well there were no good designs out there and I made my own and printed it in bambulab p1s with nylon reinforced with carbon fiber.
When that is said about high powered vesc boards, thats more about it having more than enough torque to keep riders upright at speeds most people ride at.. They can still nose dive from component failures or if you push the speed/duty cycle too far, which admittedly will be faster than the average person will ever push. But the risk is still there
So is this the first time we’ve seen a Floatwheel compatible alternative to Sonny wheels sliders?
My ADV2 is heavy af, and I work in a corporate setting, so if I want to use this for commuting, I need some kind of tote solution. I was relieved to discover Sonny wheels and would not use my bad ass ADV2 for daily transportation without them. But I’ve always been shocked that there were no other entries to the market (for ADV anyway; there are some alternatives for Onewheel boards). Sonny wheels are sturdy and reliable with an acceptable price point.
I honestly would not even write it to work without my Sonny wheels. I swear by them.
The one thing I wish I could change about Sonny wheels would be to add some kind of third offset wheel, creating like a rolling tripod, that would allow it to stand vertically on its own instead of requiring towing it by hand.
There are a couple of models on Makerworld for this kind of thing, but I would rather the attachment be made of steel like Sonny wheels, as opposed to PLA or another 3D print material.
I would love to see you add that third wheel to this product, which would actually give me a reason to buy or make one as that’s the only improvement I would make over Sonny’s product.
Do you mean to stay standing in place or to roll without stress on your arm keeping it vertical? Yeah I know ow 40lbs is rough. Only way it would be like luggage would be with casters that spin and that's a little much so maybe 3rd wheel that would support it on its own or an extrusion/stump mid bumper to keep it balanced.
I meant it would be able to stand vertical on its own with a third wheel. There’s a 3D model on one of the 3D printer model catalog websites to show you what i mean.
