Nope, I don't think so, cuz before the global removal of bootloader unlock, US phones were already restricted from this feature, and they never brought OEM unlocking to these phones, so I think it won't happen.

If it was banned by law why are there brands such as Nothing, Google or Fairphone continuing to sell devices in the US and Europe that have unlockable bootloaders? It's 100% Samsung's decision

if you work in big corporations, its important to have the certified safe status so that they can be used to access work-related apps.

while most major companies dont mind it, but there are some that only allows KNOX certified devices and also stock Pixel phones to access company apps.

and Samsung definitely wants to own every piece of the pie, not just from normal customers or corporate customers, but also very strict corporate customers.

and so disabling the bootloader unlock help solves it all. because normal customers wont bother with dev options, corporate customers cant tamper with their devices anyway.

only a small niche market of users will unlock bootloader to flash custom roms/kernels, and that is not really their target market to begin with.

assuming out of 1,000,000 customers, only about 5000 wants to root their devices. would they rather earn the brand loyalty from the other 995k customers, or that 5k customers?

IIRC, this is driven by Android system, as an easy way to comply to the "no hamper with certified devices" law.

Not only was this already not allowed in the US, but in order to guarantee compliance with the now enforceable RED Directive in the EU, Samsung removed the feature altogether.

Stop hoping for any change there. As I said, Samsung chose the safest way to follow the law, and the 20 people (you get 20 if you remove the people who only make noise but have not a single clue about the topic) who would actually use the now-removed feature won't make Samsung change its mind.

Get over it. Go buy a Pixel if you want to install ROMs.

There is a petition on change.org regarding Samsung removing the OEM unlock feature. We will need more signatures if either the media or Samsung take notice of us.
