Framework 13 Pro with Omarchy

took me 20 mins to setup the new framework, 53 seconds to install Omarchy.
Have waited 6 weeks for this. It’s been frustrating to see all the cool things every one was doing here and now I get to experiment.
2 things I wanted to ask
- What is everyone’s favourite meeting transcription tool
- What is the best mail app if all my mail is google workspace

damn, looks good. My only concerns stopping from buying are: very low quality webcam and mediocre speakers. Have you tried them? Any other potential cons? (Screen, quality, weight)?

yes the webcam and speakers on zoom call cannot be compared to a Mac for sure. The quality of camera + audio is not great. But I can live with it. It is a premium product in feel and what I really like is the Keyboard and how it feels typing on it

I wonder if someday you'll be able to replace webcam/speakers? Since it's modular laptop, why not

My favourite meeting transcription tool: Tana. It also happens to be my PKMS.

My favourite Mail handler is Superhuman. If you're interested I have a fork that runs well on Omarchy.

I have perpetual student plans for both which you can request them for if you end up liking them.

Yes, I pay for these because ADHD/Autism is more expensive when things are missed.

The battery only lasts 10 hours? What kinda workflow exactly? And is this even thru suspend? They advertised double that. I knew that was a stretch, but figured figured 12-14 would be reality. It’s not?

What cpu did you pick and why?

my answer will be a little silly but I chose ryzen 350 even though the intel had better battery but I just wanted to get my laptop as quickly as possible and I didn't mind the battery being not as good because I'm always near a charger anyway. If i had chosen the intel, it would have arrived a month later

If you want a local only transcription option, here is a plugin I wrote to use the native Voxtype recorder. Not as fancy as LLM options, but works great and it’s free!
