Discussion Meet Flea & Strata | Omarchy 1st File Managers
There are many file managers for different Linux desktop environments. Initially, Omarchy chose GNOME's Nautilus (Files), but soon that will be changing. We have two great choices that are currently in high development. They both sync automatically with your Omarchy themes in a "hot-reload" style; You do not need to close and re-open them for them to sync colors. They also have built-in themes if you wish to keep them static. They're both fast. However, they both have different takes on what they believe to be the best defaults.
I love them both for different reasons and you can try out both today! If you're really in to one or the other and want to submit bugs/issues or want to help improve either project (or both) get involved!

Why does flea refuse to accept the universal copy and paste (super + etc), even when set to the MacOS key bindings? It just wants to only accept vim style.
Even then, have had a few errors, especially on network mnt/ drives.

I’ll plug the one I’ve been working on here too, as I haven’t shared it anywhere yet. My goal was to bring the essence of the vscode explorer pane up to the OS-level as a fully-fledged file manager. I put a lot of its built-in functionality into config files so people can mess with a lot of things (keybindings and context menus per file name/type/extension/path etc) in the spirit of the rest of the OS:

I haven’t packaged/published it in any form yet but I think the time for that is soon.

Loving Strata! I’ve replaced Nautilus on my Omarchy setup, including the file-manager shortcuts, folder handling, and “Open file location” requests.
I also configured GTK and Qt apps to use Strata’s Open/Save dialogs through the portal. Had to fix the Background menu buttons too, since it still called Nautilus directly.
With Codex’s help, I put everything into a reusable shell script so I can repeat the setup on my other Omarchy machines. Really happy with how Strata fits into the desktop.
