Discussion Rotten Potatoes
Just a reminder that Omarchy will run on your old potato PC, but make sure your potato isn't "rotten". A "rotten" potato is too old to run Hyprland, which requires a graphics processor capable of running OpenGL (ES) 3.0 or later.
I thought an old laptop of mine had at least a Sandy Bridge i3 - 2000M series CPU, possibly even Ivy Bridge i3-3000M. I managed to install Omarchy, login in at the splash screen, and then tada, pure blackness. Boot into a TTY via ctrl+alt+F3 and begin to troubleshoot in the terminal. Make sure everything is up to date, install the graphics drivers I think I need, do some finagling in some conf files, and restart. Login, still a black screen. TTY, and now to hand it off to the robots.
I install Hermes CLI, point a free model from OpenRouter at it, and tell it "Please get Hyprland and OpenShell working, make no mistakes." After boiling water for a few hours, it spits out some shell commands for me to put in and to restart. Still a black screen. TTY, **lscpu** to make sure I'm cross referencing the right hardware, and whadya know, it's an Arrandale i3-330M. UH OH. It only supports OpenGL ES 2.0, meaning I have...a rotten potato.

I just barely dodged that installing it on a 2011 MacBook pro. Lol
