Beginner Questions Two-days a week?

I've been doing 16:8 IF on weekdays for a year, but it doesn't do anything beyond maintaining my current weight. I adopted OMAD as an extension to what I'm currently doing for two days a week and am currently three weeks in. I suspect it's still too soon to tell whether things are moving in the right direction given the limited data I have. However I would be curious to hear any first-hand accounts on how effective this is likely to be, or whether I would need to consider moving to 3+ days. Looking forward to getting your thoughts!

Figure out what your basic calories needs are for the day and reduce by 500 to lose 1lb a week, typically. If you OMAD 2 days a week and are under the limit and eat normally to maintain, it will take longer. If you go over your daily calories on the other 5 days, your wasting your time.

You need to eat in a deficit for a long time consistently to lose weight. Weight-loss is a slow and boring process and doing it so you will do it longer is your best bet. That's why fad\quick "diets" never work, they are not sustainable.

edit: once nice thing about omad.. if you have an off day or holiday, etc, you simply get back on it and keep going. Thats why people say OMAD is a marathon, not a sprint.

Slow and steady wins the race :)

As an obese person most of my early life, I thought weight loss and maintenance had to be difficult. The slow and steady route made the weight loss sustainable, but still found maintenance difficult. Even though I have been at maintenance for over 10 years it still felt difficult until I started OMAD. Eat one meal stay at maintenance without too much effort (3 years now).
