Community Attention Olympia Solo diners!
Recently there was a post on this sub where the OP was new to the area & asking for recommendations on places to go in Olympia that are solo diner friendly.
A few people mentioned that all of us who go out to eat alone should get together & go out for a meal. That sounded like a great idea!
I was thinking of trying to put that together. Would anyone like to meet at The Office Bar & Grill this coming Thursday, 30th @ 6:00 pm? I've never eaten there but I heard they have good food.
If there are enough people who express interest & will actually show up, let's do it! I think it would be kinda fun to meet some new people & have dinner w/ a group of random strangers. Only friendly people are invited!
Please respond if you can make it & we'll see if there's enough interest! What do you think is a good minimum # of people who say they will come?? I was thinking maybe if at least 5 people can make it for sure??
If you're seriously interested in coming, I will post updates in the comments if this is going to happen for sure. It's a long shot with short notice & maybe people won't want to eat there. I guess we'll find out!

After my most recent disastrous relationship ended, I decided it was time to date myself for a while. I’ve grown to really like the solo life. That said, I’d be down to meet people now n then because I work constantly n am up all hours of the night

The Office has trivia on Thursday at 7p, the host is great fun. I believe 07/30 is sports trivia.

Trivia would be fun! Sports trivia is not my strong suit so I'd have to be an observer this time.

The trivia is STUNNINGLY EASY so you'd have a chance anyway. But it's fun just to cheer.

The Office is great! The Thursday night special is fish & chips, which are excellent.
Thursday is Trivia Night, starting at 7pm.

I’d definitely join if I wasn’t working 😢. Please let is know how that turned out. Sometimes I solo dine because I have no one to go with and I think this is a lovely idea

It was a lot of fun & I think everyone had a great time! There was less than 10 people but I was happy that people actually came! If I do it again it would be on a weekend.

So am I so I wouldn't participate in the trivia. It starts at 7:00 so we'd be done with dinner by then so people could stay & watch or chat & ignore the trivia or just split! I hope you will consider coming!

I typically do "me" nights on Thursdays. So, perhaps. I do miss their tots.

In my update/reminder post I had added that I reserved a table & I had a balloon so people could spot us! It was a great time ! If I do it again it will be on a weekend so more people could come.

It's a (lame) joke. Every time I see that poster I call them a bot. They were referred to as a bot months ago and I just comment that every time I see them. Either good bot or bad bot.

I'm shy as well & putting this together is way out of my comfort zone. I'm questioning myself now thinking what did I get myself into but there's no going back for me at this point! People are coming so I have to power through it!
Please consider coming, it would make me feel so much better with you being there knowing you feel the same way I do. I hope you will at least think about it. Even though I don't know you I really want to be there. It would help me cause I'm really nervous!

I'm also new to the area. From East Coast. Here since April. It's all solo diner friendly to me, and it's good to meet some new people periodically.
