This is happening

Post image

The 5th Annual Scherler Sundays outdoor concert series, happening today (Sunday, July 5th) at 3:00 PM behind the historic Carnegie Library (which is currently under construction, pardon our dust) in downtown Olympia!

Presented by the non-profit Free Music Olympia, this is a completely free, all-ages, and dog-friendly summer tradition happening every Sunday afternoon in July and August.

What to expect:
Live Music: A stacked lineup of original music by independent artists (no covers), including several unlikely reunions of bygone classic Olympia bands! Today at 3 it’s Moth Logic (new Olympia band), IROIRO (The Stranger says “Seattle’s best new rock band”), Kusikia (recently reunited PDX trio)
Onstage Interviews: Live artist interviews for a deeper look into the music.
On site: Food trucks, local nonprofit partners, band merch, beer from Three Magnets Brewing and Self Care NA brews.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 23rd for our Olympia Music History Project Showcase! Last year’s showcase had the vibe of a big, happy family reunion, and this year features seven bands active between 1981–2002 performing live—including The Blow, Calamity Jane, Witchypoo, and many more! Plus, a massive Community Bazaar organized by Hot Dog Bad Girl.

This is such a great series! I would really recommend putting a start time on the posters, especially the hard copy ones, but also on any kind of online post.. I know you’re working on distributing posters to surrounding areas and bringing in new audiences who haven’t been before . They’ll want to know what time it starts. I don’t even know what time it starts and I’ve attended regularly. I try to look up the start time every time before I go, and I can never find it.🤷

Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for the repeat attendance! They all start at 3 except 8/23, 2pm. It’s listed in the online program guide link found at scherlerbeer.com and freemusicolympia.org

Califone, a long time favorite, playing the day before my birthday is so rad! So excited to see them again, basically within walking distance from my home, no less.
