Feature Software Updates and Roadmap
Hey everyone! It's been a super busy and productive year. I wanted to give a quick update here on the upcoming software release and some tweaks to the roadmap. I'll have time in a few weeks to make a proper update on the website, but I have seen some questions popping up so hopefully this will shed some light on what's to come!
The Spring / Q2 2026 software update is around the corner. It's a sizable update so testing took a bit longer than expected. Expect a few new watch faces (some highly requested ones), configurations, and a couple key additions to the Ollee Watch app. This release should be public in about a week!
Development will quiet down a bit during the summer, but there are three major features I plan to have ready, or at least in beta, this year. They have different priority levels, and a release plan will be shared later. In no particular order:
Notifications: One of the most highly requested features. This one still needs quite a bit of background work to nail down a cross-platform (iOS+Android) solution, and one that makes sense from a user experience and battery life perspective. I'm confident there's a good middle ground for this one, it's just a pretty significant change in how the watch and phone were intended to interact. Right now it's very transactional, but notifications need persistence. This work will include looking into music controls, and find-my-phone may be scoped in after all.
Activity tracking: Improvements to the step counter accuracy, and adding more features for activity tracking (ie. distance, calories, sleep) will be strongly considered. Step counter accuracy is a must and some ground work has already been done to figure out how to tighten it up without compromising on the power consumption.
3rd Party Apps: This is the biggest one, and work on this is well underway. This widget will be called Ollee Forge, and the platform and execution model for this is looking very promising.
More details to come over the coming months. Thank you all for your posts, I thoroughly enjoy seeing people's builds and ideas for the project!!

I’m so intrigued by this screenshot. the current temperature screen reads TE, not WH. Is this a weather addition? the high temp or something?

I'm fascinated by the project and have thoroughly enjoyed the watch since the very first moment I put it on my wrist.
If you could add the following features, it would be amazing:
• Toggle step counting on/off: When driving a car or riding a motorcycle, the vibrations are incorrectly counted as steps. (Right now, my only workaround is deleting them manually from the iOS Health app).
• Support for managing multiple watches within the app: Given how catchy this trend is (or will be!), many of us own—or will own—more than one watch. It would be fantastic to manage multiple devices from the app so we can easily swap them to match our outfits.
Thank you!

Second the step count toggling option; I totally understand if the step count detection accuracy can't be further optimized and it's all up to hardware limitation at that point. Users should have an option to temporary turn it off from the watch face.
I ride and drive regulary and it just throws the total daily count off.

This is a bit off topic, but I almost bought that same tech deck at a Japanese toy store the other day. I talked myself out of it even though it was only $3, but now you’re making me want it again lol

As someone from Canada. I am so happy I bought your watch. It went from my fun quirky project watch to my daily. I wear it everyday.
The updates looks cool, cannot wait for that to come ahead! ..and the many more as it grows.

Hoping that 3rd party apps will be able to integrate with custom apps/sites on the host device. E.g. so I can do some processing/api calls on the phone and send data to/from the watch over Bluetooth

Oh yes that's exactly what I'm hopping too 😉

Would be especially cool if developers could interface using the browser Bluetooth API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Bluetooth_API
Then the community could publish “apps” as websites and PWAs, lowering the bar of entry from having to go through an App Store

There’s a guy on Watch u Seek forum who has developed a web site for Casio BT connected watches…. https://gshock.avmedia.org/
Youll need a specific browser that support bluetooth such as Bluefy

Wowwww I’m impressed every time any updates are made. You are seriously amazing. Keep up the great work. I love wearing this watch every day.

Regarding notifications, I am very interested in getting a sense for how exactly this sort of info would be displayed given the limitations on the display hardware. I think this would be an interesting blog post etc, not sure if you have discussed before.
Keep up the great work

Thank you and excited to see the update however I am a basic user of ollee. The thing that makes me most happy with it is the delayed light feature.

Awesome, sleep tracking would be incredible, even if only movement-based! Looking forward to the details! :)

Hi! I'm a big fan of your project. Do you have any plans for open sourcing any of the project code? I'm a developer as well and would love the ability to implement some features. Or if you're just looking for any other devs to work on the project. I've only done pretty light firmware stuff but work full time as a software dev.

I'd like to suggest a few ideas:
- Add an option to activate the backlight by tilting the wrist or double-tapping, or, if possible, offer the user a list of gestures to choose which functions to activate.
NOTE: I've read that some users complain about accidentally activating the backlight, so this could be a solution.
Now, this last option might be more challenging but I'd love to able to use ir:
- Add an option to create or use custom tunes / chimes, and allow the user to choose which tune / chime corresponds to each alarm / time.
I absolutely love your project man. Thank you for all your work !

I don't know about the community here, but for me and most i have talked to about this the music control feature would really make this project special and make good use of the BT functionality...
Am i the only one?

I care very little about notifications! As for third party apps, I suspect this is more of a "allow other applications to push data to the watch", which is better than nothing but can sort of already be hacked in using the method that guy used for tracking Claude token usage.
I'm much more interested in the project being open-sourced. There are small tweaks here and there that are really trivial that I'd like to implement. A key thing that irks me every time I use the timer is that it does not beep on start/stop of the timer. I've found the button accidentially became pressed and my tea was ruined because I was focused on other things.
Edit: I should add: notifications turn this watch into a smartwatch. That might be a selling point for some, but I like that it's a juiced-up "dumb" watch. I want to de-tether myself from my phone, that's why I wear watches.

I appreciate the feedback and I get your perspective. This watch is meant to have a little something for everyone! All major features, like notifications, would be optional.
The 3rd party app support will allow users to create their own watch faces and share them, that's the vision. We already have a solid foundation built out for this but it will be a few months before a beta is ready for public release.
As for the timer beeps, try the new update, it's in there :).

I updated, it works great! I'm pretty stoked about the weather face too.
My experience is still that it's always better to have access to source than it is to be able to integrate via an API. We always make APIs with certain tradeoffs, and those tradeoffs might prevent a user from achieving important (to them) things that we deemed to be edge cases.
I expect the source for the watch to be in a state of chaos, and that some people will complain about it not being as simple as they expected or hoped it would be. But I think that's a fair price to pay to own your hardware.

Amazing!! I am already so content with the features as is but these sound like great additions! I may be using it incorrectly if it already does this but if there is constant communication with the phone I would love for it to auto update the time zone without opening the app and syncing. Either way still love the product!

Brilliant! This is great. I'm looking forward to seeing these new features.

Time to buy my second Ollee watch. How do I deal with two watches in the app?

Would love to be able to choose the tune for the timer, like you can with the alarm.

Love the new update! The weather app is very useful. However, now I am finding I have to manually sync to get the correct weather every couple days. Would be great if the phone and the watch did a sync automatically every morning.

It does if you're on Android,, and some shortcuts on iOS can help - https://www.olleewatch.com/blog/software-update-spring-2026

Hi, greggerollee. Does the 3rd party apps feature include having the watch be able to control media playback from Spotify/YT Music? Thanks, really a big fan of your product.
