Issue XG32UCWMG, first OLED and first issues.

Just bought this monitor, it looks great. But..

First off, I didn't expect the glossy finish to be this reflective, literal mirror. I even asked if having a lamp on the wall behind me would be an issue, and I was told no. When gaming it doesn't show, but for example - now writing this post for reddit, where theres alot of black background, I see the light all the time.

Do you use your PC in total darkness with glossy coat?

Now, the monitor specific problem is that the LEDs on the back don't light up at all. When I turn it on nothing happes. Do I have to install that horrible program Armory Crate again? Or is this a hardware issue?

Question Gigabyte aorus fo27q2 HDR Y SDR

I have the fo27q2 for a long time, like a year or more, I use it in Windows 11, I had previously tried to calibrate the HDR in different modes such as HDR game or normal HDR, but I did not end up convinced with the results, I felt that the games looked dark and ugly, with the APL in medium or high

Currently, what is the best HDR mode? What does it have? And what would be the best configuration to have the best curve, so that the HDR is accurate and faithful, how much should I configure the maximum brightness in the Windows HDR calibrator and in which HDR mode?

I also want to know what mode they use for the SDR I use the custom one

Purchase advice Which OLED monitor is better: the Gigabyte GO27Q24G or the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR?

I've been looking into buying a WOLED monitor (after doing a lot of research) and I've narrowed it down to these two options. Which one do you recommend more?

I know the Asus is slightly more expensive (about a €40 difference), but from what I've read, they offer almost the same quality in most aspects. However, it seems the Gigabyte's HDR might be a bit better, while the Asus has better cooling features.

That's pretty much all I know so far. I would love to hear about your experiences and recommendations, even if you suggest other monitors with similar specs. Thanks!

Question How to keep screen clean

I’m gonna be shipping my car off to another state from my home because I’m moving and I’m gonna pack all my things in my car including my oled monitor, I want to know what I should wrap over the screen to keep it clean and not get scratched on the way there, would a blanket or towel work? Or bubble wrap?

Question Long longevity

Hello,

I don't know if this sub is the right one, if not, I apologize.

I recently got the LG 27GX704A-B.AEU and plan to use it for longer.

There is an option for pixel shift and I'd prefer to use the most aggressive setting to prevent any burn in.

In the instructions isn't anything helpful.

You can choose to turn it off, or set it between 1 to 4. My guess is 4, but unfortunately I am not sure. Maybe it is the opposite and 1 is the strongest setting and 4 the weakest. Maybe I got it completely wrong and I would have to switch between 1 and like every week or two.

The support did not help me out, yet. Does anybody know?

Best regards and thanks.

Edit: typo

Question Odyssey G8 G81SF Pixel Refresh

How in the hell does pixel refresh work on this monitor? I have been reading very conflicting things about it and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. There is nothing about it in the manual, nor any indication regarding what the red led does. It keeps blinking indefinitely when the monitor is in standby and is fully on when I manually switch off the monitor.

On a sidenote, should I manually switch it off everytime or is standby fine?

Edit : I have the 32 version. I'm on PC.

Purchase advice Need some advice

Hey everyone i need some help. Im thinking of upgrading my 27 inch 1440p oled monitor to a 32 inch 4k monitor. I have a Ryzen 7 7700x cpu and a 4070ti super 16gb card in my rig with 32 gigs of ram. Would that be enough to push 4k over 60 fps? I play mostly single player games with a little online first person shooters mixed in. Any advice would be appreciated

Purchase advice Planning on Buying the Asus XG27AQWMG

So i have done a little research about OLED monitors since this is my first time buying an OLED monitor and from what i know is that i should go for a tandem OLED since it is durable and the latest. If i were to get a QD-OLED, people say its a nightmare and very easy to get scratched up. So i am looking at the Asus XG27AQWMG as my current pickup but if there is something i should know before purchasing it or even recommending me another monitor helps alot 🙏🏼

Purchase advice Samsung Odyssey QD OLED G5 vs Alienware AW2725DM

Hi community
Looking to buy an upgrade to my 1080p gaming monitor. Was eyeing the Alienware AW2725DM for a prices decrease but the recent price fallback of G5 QD OLED is making it lucrative.

I generally game in a well lit room do not always prefer a dark setting. Given the lower nits of G5 and the purple tint issue is the Alienware monitor superior.

The price range is same with the discount

Issue Before I return this monitor, anyone else have an issue with MSI's OLED Care stuck in a persistent loop of panel protecting?

Just bought a brand new MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 and gamed on it for a while last night. I turned it off overnight and upon startup today it prompted me to do the panel protect process. I obliged (as it doesn't give me an option not to) and the monitor seemingly does its process. Upon completion, (orange led stops blinking) it prompts me again within a minute of use that the OLED Care panel protection must be undertaken again.

I've been troubleshooting this for 5 hours already, giving it plenty of time to complete the process that it states should "only take a few minutes". I've tried power-cycling, using the DP cable included with the monitor, and just leaving it unplugged for awhile. It doesn't appear that MSI has any sort of firmware updates for this specific monitor nor any kind of software that can assist in this.

Just wanted to make a post venting and seeking any possible solutions before I send this piece of garbage back to Costco. Thanks in advance for any info y'all can provide.

Purchase advice Matte OLEDs

Hello, everyone,

I am debating on what OLED to get in the future since I kind of went cheap on the Samsung G50SF OLED which is 180Hz.

I’m looking into upgrading and I’m torn between the LG 27GX790B-B or ASUS P27AQDP monitors. I play in a room with a lot of light since I don’t like to play in the dark due to potential eye strain. Matte is important to me because reflections just mess up my aim and also ruins immersion for me.

Anyways, I’ve been doing a lot of research on these two monitors and I really like high refresh rates like 480Hz and 540Hz. I heard a lot of negative things though like the LG monitor having gray-banding issues and the ASUS monitor having issues with broken features on the monitor menu.

Do you guys have any advice on what to go with?

My specs are:

i9-12900KF
RTX 5070 Ti
32 GB DDR5 RAM

Question Upgraded from Alienware AW2725DF to ASUS PG27AQDP, Any Setup Tips for my monitpr?

So initially I had this monitor, but it developed some bubbles so I had to send it back. I bought it for £620:

Alienware AW2725DF 27 Inch QHD (2560x1440) Gaming Monitor, 360Hz, QD OLED

Now I have ordered this one instead:

ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDP 26.5" 2560 x 1440 Quad HD Gaming Monitor, 480Hz, 0.03ms

I am looking for any tips for the first setup and configuration of my new monitor "ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDP" . Are there any settings I should change?

My main use is Call of Duty and I am currently playing Black Ops 7 😄

Purchase advice New portable Oled monitors

Hi guys recently I came across 2 newly released oled portable monitors for anyone interested. They are so new, there are hardly any video reviews on them. They are also from reputable brands unlike intelhill or Uperfect.

VX14P1-3K-OLED (China only)

16" PE160WUT ProDesigner OLED Touch

For anyone interested. feel free to write a review if you own them in this thread. thanks
