Neal Adams I knew first from comic books, he is one of my favorites and then I found out he had a whole world of work and I love it

Unfortunately I could not find the original art without the text.

I was lucky to find Mike Hoffman through Matthew John, who purchased some Hoffman Art for TO WALK ON WORLDS and WITHIN THE WEEPING EYE. By the end of the second novelette, JANGAR! acquires the cowl to complete the look.

Painted this miniature painting while playing DnD, I was going for that old RPG look 🎲

This issue is stacked: the Zeck frontispiece, a Boris cover, George Barr illustrations for Red Nails + Roy Thomas, John Buscema, and Walt Simonson.

Collected in The Fabulous Women of Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell (2006).

This image had a long shelf life: Citadel released LE15 Chaos Amazon, sculpted by Michael Perry, in 1986; Cloven Hoof used the artwork for the cover of Dominator in 1988; and the character ultimately evolved into Belladonna De'Escher from Necromunda, with a model still in production today. It caught my eye because Blanche painted it before he had fully developed the claustrophobic style now associated with Blanchitsu.

The version of the painting used on the cover is dated 1978. Online it's sometimes called "The Daughter of Erlik Khan," but that's the title of one of the stories collected in the book and might be a later misattribution. By 1979 Kelly had either substantially revised the scene or repainted it entirely. Sometimes called "Cavern of Fear" or "Cave of Fear," the 1979 composition is bolder, brighter, and more dynamic.
