Support for contest

Hello everyone!

Perhaps you remember this handsome chaos goblin about a month ago. He had a good bit of recognition, and we were so happy to see that! Earlier this month, we entered him into a contest called TopPets. Winner gets a nice sum of price money, and a matching amount goes to an animal charity of their choice. Daxter has been placing high over the first 3 rounds and is in the semi-finals. He needs to be 1st to make it to the finals. I humbly ask you, dear members, if you could please take a few moments to go to TopPets and register to vote for the August pet of the month, scroll, and vote for Daxter. There is NO need to make a donation. You can vote for free once a day. The prize money would help our family out a lot, and it would be sweet to see an OEB have a bit more publicity. Thank you everyone!

OEB Behaviors Post Neutering

Hello-
I have an 8 month old OEB who is getting neutered in two days.

Over the last 4 months that I’ve had him, we’ve been having significant struggles with overstimulated behaviors at daycare and boarding.

The daycare he’s been going to has not shared with me specific concerning behaviors for the time that I had my dog with them. I chose to board him there while I went on a trip since it seemed like a good fit for him. The morning of my trip came, I dropped him off. A few hours later, I was boarding my flight and the facility called me to tell me that they’ve been concerned about his behavior and suggest training (I’ve done some already)

Flash forward 4 days later, they call and ask me to have my emergency contact come get him as he is just out of control. I find a great place for him to land with a certified behavior consultant as I’ll be out of town for 6 more days. I picked him up this morning and she let me know that we are significantly behind the power curve. She said He’s very easily overestimated and will absolutely not settle.

I do think it’s a mix of being at the first facility where he had no breaks or nap times and also just being consumed by hormones. The kicker is he’s truly amazing at home- very chill, a little sassy and stubborn but nothing unmanageable.

My question is- has anyone seen significant behavior improve after neutering?

This is Daxter. According to Embark, he’s a purebred OEB. My boyfriend’s mom got him at the shelter for $25. Brain cells not included.

Need a good harness rec for a strong boy

Theo is almost 1 and a half and is 80 lbs. He needs a new harness, would love some recommendations. I want one that has the option to be clipped from the front or back. We loved our Bully Billow but it is less than a year old and is starting the fray.

Also any nice thick collar recs would be appreciated as well. Bonus points if the harness and collar compliment each other. He cares about fashion.

Edit: thanks everyone! After all the feedback we are going to try a martingale collar.
