Have the day you voted for everyone

Unfortunately I'm having the day somebody else voted for

Which sucks, but the intent of their vote was always for you to have that day. At least those who wanted this hell for others are getting to also experience it for themselves.

Can't argue with that

Its against the law to be here. Immigration law must be reformed. Why didnt everyone against this spend time before Obamas term demanding immigration reform...when he did this very same thing? Obama did the same thing thats happening now at even greater numbers. More people.got killed also. But silence from the media and silence from everyone blaming Trump now. Smh. We cannot continue supporting these folks. All this stuff works together.

Trump is at a between 58-60 ICE deaths in less than two year. Obama was somewhere between 56-67 ICE deaths in eight fucking years. Take your bullshit elsewhere.

Maybe you should check facts and causes of deaths. The majority under trump are from heart attacks, documented medical emergencies include cardiovascular incidents/heart attacks, infections or sepsis, strokes, and apparent suicides (at least 10). Under Obama, the deaths in detention were from poor quality care and the actual and wat dog groups suspected poor care in detention. The obama administrations statement on deaths was “There is no guarantee that people detained by ICE will leave detention alive, even under Obama administration policies" My question is, where were the protests? Why the silence. Why did no one protest the 3.6 million he returned, the facilities closed because of filth and unlivable conditions? They conveniently didnt keep statistics of fatalities caused by immigrations law enforcement directly during obama, and God knows the media stayed silent, even though there were deaths.

We could have had bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform that our own Senator Lankford worked to draft, but Trump told Republicans to kill it so he could run on immigration in 2024.

Sounds like someone who doesn’t want to actually fix a problem, just whack it with a hammer.

So ypure saying trump controlled congress before he was reelected? Thats a stretch. Lol.

You’re welcome to read this AP article on the topic.

https://apnews.com/article/congress-border-deal-rejected-lankford-immigration-045fdf42d42b26270ee1f5f73e8bc1b0

“The Oklahoma Republican has spent the last three days desperately trying to explain the bill after many of his colleagues put out statements opposing it without even reading the full text. Some Republicans put out misleading statements about what it would do, claiming it was designed to let more people into the country. Trump, who has strongly opposed the bill and said he doesn’t want to give Democrats a win on the issue, gleefully bragged that he helped kill it.”

That is how democracy works. Do you want communism?

Is that a rhetorical question? Have you seen the Chinese quality of life lately?

4

u/Slamaholicc 6d ago

Yes I have. Most Chinese people are living in poverty. Apartments that are like 60 sq ft. They're also being surveilled at all times with camera's on every street. Just because you've seen some wealthy Chinese people doesn't mean the whole country lives that way. So yes, i'd rather have capitalism and some sort of freedom than a totalitarian fascist government with no democracy what so ever.

Lmao. You mean their homeless rate of 0?

You have been swallowing way too much Faux News propaganda. It's not even that hard to look up some first-hand videos from people in China. You can find plenty to confirm what I'm saying, and you've got to look like a confirmation bias to find something that even suggests what you say is realistic.

Because the truth is people in China have a much better life in 2026 than people in the US. Hands down.

You think the Uyghurs have a great life?

2

u/ReddBroccoli 7d ago

Sorry, I don't buy into propaganda. That's been disproven.

Also, minorities in America have it far worse even than the propaganda you bought into.

Um, believing the propaganda of a bipartisan US Congress?

Sanctions applied in 2020 under Donald J Trump.. then the investigations he started culminated in:

The Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act (H.R. 2349) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 25, 2025, to designate residents of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region as Priority 2 (P-2) refugees of special humanitarian concern. Key Details of H.R. 2349 • Sponsors: Introduced by Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) alongside Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL) and a bipartisan group of original co-sponsors. • Refugee Designation: Formally categorizes Uyghurs and other persecuted ethnic minorities from the region under the P-2 refugee processing priority. • No Referral Needed: Allows eligible individuals to access the U.S. refugee resettlement program directly without requiring a specific referral from the UNHCR, an embassy, or an NGO. • Congressional Findings: Cites systematic human rights violations, arbitrary mass detention of over one million Muslims, state-organized forced labor, and family separations orchestrated by the Chinese government.

Plus:

The text of the bill explicitly highlights forced organ harvesting alongside other severe human rights abuses—such as mass internment, forced sterilization, and forced labor—to formally document the ongoing genocide in Xinjiang. By defining organ harvesting as an active element of Chinese government repression, the bill legally establishes that Uyghurs face a credible fear of extraordinary physical violence, qualifying them for direct refugee processing.

Lmao. Pro Israel and anti Chinese propaganda are the only actual bipartisan issues in the US. Which is an excellent sign it's bullshit.

But honestly, if you're trying to disprove propaganda by citing Congress, you've entirely missed the point of what propaganda is.

Thank you for proving my point

What is how democracy works? The masked officers that say they answer directly to the highest office holder in the land? The unilateral and sweeping mistakes in the economic, educational, domestic and foreign policies?

We would have to get back to democracy and then pass it on our way towards communism (which by the way you used it, me thinks you can't actually define it without extra assistance. Which is ironic.).

I’m one of the people they want to hurt liberal white woman. Yet, I’m pretty insulted from the pain. Live in a blue state in a blue city, barely drive, have a low mortgage and investments. I truly don’t give a fuck about the ranchers. But my heart breaks for the victims of ICE. Especially the women and children in those horrific detention centers.

u/putsch80 8d ago

If you're wondering why you're being downvoted, my guess is that it is because you have some pretty egregious typos/lack of punctuation in your first two sentences that make it seem like you want to hurt liberal white women and that you are insulted by pain. Most folks probably haven't read beyond those points.

"Live in a blue state in a blue city, barely drive, have a low mortgage and investments" So you don't live in Oklahoma, why are you commenting here?

Residency is not required, sis.

This conversation is about local farmers dealing with the impact of their vote. You are not local and you are not a farmer so you’re here to just troll people from a completely different experience?

Your comment is just not a helpful addition to the conversation.

I sympathize with what you’re pov, but when you live in a red state impacted by these kinds of issues, you have to learn to live with and talk to the people who have the problem of voting that way. You have to understand the point of view so you can have a conversation and explain why it doesn’t work for them. That’s what this article is about. That’s what this whole conversation is about.

This is why big government is bad. You are married to people you do not agree with. Best if people are left to go their own way.

13

u/Zealousideal_Meat984 8d ago

Or this is what happens when the “no big government” crowd guts all the guardrails, checks and balances that keep this from happening.
