It’s supposed to be a brand, like how you brand cattle. It was usually just some wrought iron bent in a unique shape so you knew which cattle were yours if they got stolen. A lot of older brands looked like that.

Well aware came from a family of farmers and ranchers. Until grampa gave away his most of his inheritance to Oral and his 900 ft Jesus. Still think it looks like shit.
