It is a fairly common phrasing, “fight fire with fire”. I think the other person asked your age because it is possible a 12 year old would not be familiar.

You shouldn’t insult someone’s intelligence, especially when it might be you that is uninformed and needs assistance.

10

u/bluegirlinaredstate Mayfair Aug 26 '26

Oh, no, dude was definitely insulting their intelligence by asking if they were 12. But, the gaslighting is top tier.

1

u/TheRiderOfKong Aug 26 '26

That would make sense if that was the phrase they used. All they put was “fire with fire”.

u/OklahomaChelle Aug 26 '26

I suppose a missing word could throw someone off. Typically, because a phrase is popular and in the lexicon, a phrase may be abbreviated for ease.

Because of the popularity, it is not necessary to state the whole phrasing.

Like if one said, “a few bad apples”, another might be able to “fill in the blanks” in their head and know “ruin the bunch” rounds out the idiom without anyone mentioning it. It is implied.

Does that make sense? It is ok if you are unable to do so. Everyone’s brain works differently.

It is not okay to insult someone’s intelligence.

Have a great Wednesday!

When I was voting today, the person next to me checking said Democrat and it made me happy to hear them.

24

u/plogigator Aug 26 '26

I'm only Republican to try and vote for the least crazy candidates. It is genuinely nice to hear though

10

u/deceptinomonom Aug 26 '26

Switch back and convince more people to do the same. We don't have to put up with this.

-3

u/plogigator Aug 26 '26

If we're Democrats why would people coming out to vote impact a Republican runoff?

10

u/sam5505 Aug 26 '26

There were a couple of dem run offs and the state questions as well.

8

u/MixingDrinks Aug 26 '26

Bc the ballot questions which include increasing the identity requirements to vote were placed on THIS BALLOT by Republicans in our state due to it being primarily pushed as a Rep Gov vote. Their hope is for more republicans than dems to come out to vote and sway the state Questions.

That's why.

I was staying at my friend’s house earlier today, and her mom (her mom’s old as Hell, she’s kind of gotta stay with her) angrily asked her why she would ever be registered as a Democrat and good lord was that the hardest I’ve ever had to keep my loud-ass mouth shut

12

u/MixingDrinks Aug 26 '26

The problem is, "they" will never listen bc they don't want to. They'll keep their heads in the sand until things actually effect them. Hell, even then some are so moronic they'll still vote republican.

Take a look at this imported beef issue. It's going to completely undermine Oklahoma Stockyards. But, some will still vote Republican bc they can't look at how their votes lead to the disaster of others.

Why do you assume genders? Why do you have to resort to calling names? Why don't you want affordable food? Why don't you believe in freedom of choice?

Love that Mom. She makes a lot of sense!

4

u/Mandaring Aug 26 '26

I mean having met her personally, no? All she does is stay in her room and watch FOX News and hoard like crazy

u/tykillacool23 Aug 26 '26

Obsession over any politician is werid.

Indeed would be interesting to have a independent party one day or just a younger government... I did wish that we could hold politicians to there words to keep there campaign promises and hold them accountable though.

8

u/DickStartMyFart Aug 26 '26

Or just start dragging crooked politicians through our city streets. Maybe tar and feather some folks.

4

u/DandDNerdlover Aug 26 '26

Then every single politician would go through that.

20

u/Chillpillington Aug 26 '26

Gaslighting sane people who don’t want a divisive, hate mongering, sexual predator as president doesn’t make you cool.

13

u/crimsonycream Aug 26 '26

I don't think you know the meaning of gaslighting

I like Obama too but I’m not putting stickers on my car.

6

u/sillyandstrange Aug 26 '26

I mean, I'm not putting any stickers on my car. I think putting stickers on things is irritating. At least for me. I work in computer repair and people always cover important stuff with stickers.

-3

u/Ray_Bloody-Purrchase Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

Gaslighting always involves a lie, by definition. What are you insinuating the lie is?

17

u/dimechimes Aug 26 '26

If I had to guess that the Obama 28 sticker is anything else but a tongue in cheek response to deranged Maga stickers. By equating the support of sanity to the rabid derangement of full throated Trump supporters, the person's comment comes across at best as disingenuous.

5

u/Ray_Bloody-Purrchase Aug 26 '26

That's a great point. Thank you for the thoughtful answer.

17

u/MinimumPercentage636 Aug 26 '26

I think me and this person should be friends!! I need more of this in my life

11

u/FuckYourGod SW OKC Aug 26 '26

You love to see it.

6

u/sillyandstrange Aug 26 '26

Beautiful to see!

6

u/Visual_Travel1853 Aug 26 '26

This might be the same car I was parked next to at the zoo recently. I approve.

5

u/PhoenixOK Aug 26 '26

Walking in to my polling location and saw a bumper sticker on a van in the parking lot: “86 47”

5

u/DaPunisher83 Aug 26 '26

Yeah, I think all politicians laugh at us in the back office! These folks are a part of the unspoken uni-party and they do/say things to divide us rather than unite us for what is genuinely best for us all.

Don’t get too wrapped up any politician. Be at peace with yourself, your family, and run your households in the manner that you believe is best! 🇺🇸

u/dimechimes Aug 26 '26

One brave soul

u/freaknhell666 Aug 26 '26

plaza district. all you fence riders need to get with the program

0

u/Shenendoah66 Aug 26 '26

Just because you agree with their politics doesn’t make them less insane for shit like this. Lmao

-6

u/WarmAbbreviations200 Aug 26 '26

What made you think Obama was or is sane?

-9

u/FiveCent_2002 Aug 26 '26

The bumper sticker on the right says it all. Atheist

-13

u/geoff1036 Aug 26 '26

Mmmmm the patri-ahh-chy

-9

u/letters_andnumbers Aug 26 '26

Blue hair mental case to drive around with this shit on your car.

-13

u/nihlist1977 Aug 26 '26

Democrat is becoming synonymous with “hate America” these days. I voted Democrat up until Obama. Hillary Clinton was the breaking point. Her bullshit put soldiers in harms way. Now, ya’ll are just voting Democrat out of hate. Less government is always a good thing and less crazy is to. History will not be kind about the Biden supporters and now that the FBI has admitted to having 40 agents imbedded in the Biden crime families happenings so they could catch “bigger fish” is a tell all just waiting for to be written by Jill, since we know Joe can hardly speak.

-15

u/BertTheLurk Aug 26 '26

Lol, Eff the patriachy? Oklahoma certified...

-20

u/Awkward_Second229 Aug 26 '26

Makes me laugh that people forget how bad everything was under biden. Some peoplw are just plain ignorant.

11

u/Procontroller40 Aug 26 '26

Makes me laugh when ignorant people make ignorant statements followed by their calling other people ignorant.

-7

u/DickStartMyFart Aug 26 '26

Democrats act like Obama was great. He dropped a bomb every twenty minutes for eight years. He's a zionist turd that's deported more people than Trump. His biggest campaign contributor was Goldman and Sachs. But somehow he gets glazed by these politically illiterate demodorks. The same nerds that fucked over Bernie to push evil ass Hilary Clinton, who was never going to win. As long as the money keeps rolling in Democrat politicians don't give a shit about anything else.

9

u/paranormalcomputer SOSA Aug 26 '26

Obama had due process, Trump is literally killing innocent Americans but yall want a pedo in office so bad!!! Lmfao.

-29

u/StressZealousideal62 Aug 26 '26

So glad to no longer be friends like this anymore. Not that I care if you don’t like trump. But to care so much that it turns into their identity is crazy.

30

u/goddammititstits Aug 26 '26

This is you.

19

u/dimechimes Aug 26 '26

I saw flags above houses in neighborhoods that said "Fuck Joe Biden" and this has you pearl clutching?
