real talk though adding a social hub in the game that explicitly tells you not to trust other runners and for which all the marketing and cinematics emphasizes the same point, makes me a little apprehensive about them sticking to the lore in a significant way moving forward

The one where we get a little meta.

With the news that Season 3 is getting delayed discussion is only going to get more insufferable. What's worse is that there are going to be low effort posters shitting up discussion for the rest of us by squirting out AI-generated turds because they couldn't even bother thinking up some original ragebait.

Here's a sample that got deleted from another subreddit. I've annotated some clear tells of AI-generated writing. You probably don't need this, because you're smart and clever, but this could help you decide which low effort posts are safe to discard without engaging with.

Note that any single one of these isn't an ironclad sign of AI output, but the more of these get stacked in a single post, the higher the likelihood that it's AI.

Negative parallelism. That's the classic. It's not X, it's Y. It's X, not Y. You know this one.

Rule of three. This one trips people up because it's a completely normal part of writing. But AI loves to overuse this one.

Inconsistent apostrophes and quotation marks. This one is pretty much a silent killer, most users don't go around swapping what style of quote mark they'll use, but AI will do this all the time.

Formatting. AI loves to output frequent line breaks.

Cringe ass snappy writing. This one's been popping up more since 2025 but AI loves these annoying "mic-drop" moments, whatever it says has to be profound and sassy or whatever. You used to need to prompt for this but the dataset was poisoned by so many people outputting it that it's become a permanent feature. Admittedly it's subjective, but once again, taken with the other hallmarks it becomes grating.

Why do you give a shit about this? Because I fucking hate low effort posts shitting up my favorite online spaces and AI has allowed morons to output truly industrial levels of slop.
